Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

I dont know if I would go that far. But In GSB the Mk2 eyeball is more reliable than the Radar most of the time

They’ll probably both get fixed at the same time from what I’ve heard… so whatever.

Yeah but we had the superior product and didn’t bribe hard enough.

The Radar is so poor anything not directly Infront of you isn’t detected quick enough.
I have been ambushed by an F-4S that was right in front of me. Thankfully everyone in ground RB is depending on the RWR and no Radar means no emissions.

But… Rafale has gotten a number of buffs in addition to that.

Its got HMD from a later variant of the Rafale. But the Tyhoon cant get striker II because that is from a later version of the Typhoon

Rafale has gotten 8x MICA from a later variant

Magic II got a nice little buff recently, but flames lock range report for Aim-9M is like 1-2 years old but hasnt been fixed yet

Heck. Rafale probably should have come with the PESA radar not AESA

Can the Typhoon get Brimarone 2 that it actually used? No because it would be too strong but here. Rafale, take AASMs

Its just more and more frustrating how restricted the Typhoon is

8 MICA is only the Indian version French Rafale F4 have never operated with 8 MICAS and likely never will as like the Typhoon it takes up fuel tank real estate.

The only aircraft we would likely ever see trading fuel for missiles is naval aircraft that are tasked with defending an attack on a carrier. Like the F/A-18E with Aim120D in “Murder Hornet” configuration.

There’s also lock range report for Magic 2, those are two different things.

It is still possible to take up to 8 missiles or MICAs even with 3 fuel tanks. Exchange SCALP on centerline for another fuel tank.

Yes but Magic II’s main strength is in a dogfight, something the Aim-9M is very weak at. Aim-9M strength is longer range ambush shot. But due to lock range issues. sometimes you just never get a lock.

Was something I covered earlier. Theres been a bunch of bugs passed to the devs for both aircrafts, along with many others ingame, but its the Rafale thats getting fixes and no other top tier jets.

Its not even a question of “good sourcing” either, since the bug reports have been approved and passed, and in some cases, such as with missing ordinance, there’s literal pictures of the missing ordinance, they just haven’t been added.

The most biting stuff tho imo is the Rafale getting stuff other jets SHOULD have, but werent given. It was given a SADL equivalent for its HMD despite the F-16C having missing SADL bug reported for months before the Rafale was even added. It effectively has data adaptive tracking (the updates tracked target every 0.01s thing) but this was denied for the Typhoon cuz its “not in-game yet” (even though we literally know its in-game already), etc…

Yeah, its really annoying its the same 3 nations waiting for Bug reports for their aircraft to be fixed. last time it was the Tornado

I’m just glad Germany also operate the Typhoon or like the F.3 we would be waiting months for any fixes.
Thankfully one of the big 3 (4) operates the Typhoon too.

oh god yes. If it was Britain only, it wouldnt even be able to supercruise

What’s the latest fix/improvement for Typhoon? Besides minor fixes like fixing countermeasures for wing tip break-offs.
The last thing I remember is that PIRATE was slightly improved. About a month ago.

the last one was the Radar/HMD improvement one, ~1 month ago

So wait, this means that the Rafale will have better kinematic performance than the Eurofighter, yes?

Because right now it already seems to slightly out accelerate it from the start and only climb marginally worse. The only thing hampering the Rafale is the low speed limit.

Well this makes no sense… It’s almost universally agreed upon that the EF has better raw flight performance while the Rafale has better 1-circle and “knife fight” capabilities (at least until the AMK kit gets introduced)

What is Gaijin thinking?

Most likely yes.

It doesnt, EFT is marginally faster in acceleration. Might not be the case anymore tho with the buff to the Rafale.

Idk, they’ve been in the French’s pocket lately, its pretty weird.

“Britain… must… not… be… competitive…”

I don’t think it outspeed the eurofighter for the same amount of fuel, i outspeed the eurofighter barely with only 20 min of fuel, i’m sure other eurofighter are at something like 35min.

Sometimes feels like they’re trying to balance this and avoiding making the German eurofighter players riot.
