Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 1)

Yeah, but I had all 3 Typhoons in my team. British, Italian and German. And I am without Typhoon :=(

yeah, bunch of F-4 can get some form of ECM too iirc, i hope they add the F-4G soon

So the f111

oh no, the EF-111 didnt have any weapons iirc, unless you mean the F-111A/F had ECM?

The f111 can carry jamming pods.
They did that over Vietnam on bombing missions afaik

I really doubt this game has the functionality to offer even the most basic of ECM simulation. Even DCS has to settle for a greatly simplified rendition of it.

PIRATE is not yet confirmed for our tranche 4 aircraft.

Currently only IPA 7 in germany would come as an aircraft with AMK and PIRATE. And would propably the last airframe in our tree.
Since tranche 4 and 5 are still long way away

Did you guys know this?

Find something in 4 bar. Dots are enough, focus on it in 2 bar narrow. It works well but usually you are limited in engaging 2 targets at best. Usually one only.

So we end up in same scenario where micas range is significantly less than its opposition.

@Gunjob have any other radar changes hit dev other that the TWS issue or is the rest of the thing still garbage?

TWS fixed, number of total TWS tracks increased, other than that its Blue Vixen with increased tracking range, my experience with Blue Vixen and PS-05A has been great what do you mean garbage?

The TWS seems to just lock onto things that don’t exist in the air the HMD mode refuses to lock in head on scenarios. It’s about as a slow as snail. Missing ground modes. It’s current implementation makes it radar perform worse than some sets from the 70s/80s hell its radar is currently worse than the aircraft it replaced the tornado F.3 and its fox hunter.

Nah, its garbage… Stuff from 70s in US TT is better than this thing. Especially when bar repeating bug is still present. If they could atleast fix that BS bug but nooo… It was reported months ago and its still in.

well after using it for the past hour, the TWS clearly hasn’t been fixed, it still says that targets are locked in one spot unless I use 20x6 scope

It’s awful I don’t know how they thought tagging as advanced radar in the devblog and gave us this slop that’s worse than stuff decades before it.

Maybe you are thinking of a different problem, but the issue with TWS was contacts were being cleared after 4 seconds without a return. That’s now up to 8 seconds which is the same as Blue Vixen and other similar radars.

That would be the “ghost targets” its a bug on all radars, where the track file isn’t updated. Annoying sure, but not limited to CAPTOR-M.

There is no source for scan speed on BV or CAPTOR-M so its 65deg/s. Scan speed isn’t an issue per say, most of the time I lose track with Fox Hunter is because it updates so quick it wants to track missiles. But I just tested it in a couple games and it feels like a longer range Blue Vixen now.

By what metric? Scan area? Notch sector? Range? Detection?

my problem is that when I try to soft lock someone with TWS, the track doesn’t follow the plane, it just stays in the same place as when it first locked on, so I have to either go into 20x6 scope (so I cant change targets as quickly), or hard lock them (so I cant change targets at all without unlocking first).

The issue people have, is that if you are using a mode different than 20x6 it takes 7 business days to update the target.

And this

Where did quality go?

This is literally an issue because of the bar scanning order. I’ve asked a dev about it, I understand this is long standing bug but its got nothing (specifically) to do with CAPTOR-M or Blue Vixen.

Same goes for track files not updating, again a bug on all radars.
