Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion

You have a slightly incorrect explanation.

What is wrong with it?

In supersonic aircraft, the speed at the entrance to the engine is always subsonic. Thrust decreases because pressure losses in the inlet device increase, and traction efficiency decreases with increasing speed.

It’s not about the ability of the intakes to provide enough air for the engine.

It’s about the increased cross sectional area caused by having larger intakes resulting in exponentially more drag the faster you go.

Are you sure the delay in acceleration is not due to your aircraft still pulling high aoa when leveling out? Especially from low speed turns the EF will still be pulling aoa that gradually goes to around 0 degrees.

I’ll take it here to avoid off topic

Hu? You do know the Typhoon is underperforming rather significantly in all respects right?

My list from another thread on the major issues needing fixing ASAP:

Thats why it has a big intake lip to close it at higher speeds

What is the ideal speed range for turn fighting in typhoon? Post patch im struggling to adjust to the new flight characteristics.

I don’t own the EFT, but if it’s anywhere close to the rafale in one circle, id say 600-700 is pretty good. Lower and the speedbleed gets very large, above that and the pilot loses consciousness quickly. In any case, if you manage to get an enemy slow, you can outmaneuver most jets even at very low speed, so there’s that

900kph at most
600kph at the lowest

Triple pylons for ASRAAM - proven. #into_the_game
Yes, I know that this is a Typhoon missile, not an ASRAAM, BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE. :D And anyway, nothing matters - the model is here.

How are ASRAAM and IRIS-T mixed here?

The brimstone looks like it’s pulling more than 7 G’s, more than the g limit in the game

I never said it shouldn’t have those things fixed. But half of those things aren’t EF issues. But in terms of how they are generally, they’re by far still the best planes in the game.

The EF mainly needs those fixes and probably a nerf to the speed retention. It’s still a delta-wing.

Even though its actually underperforming in both STR and ITR?

Why should it be artifiicially nerfed just for the sake of it?

I don’t know man from the looks of this video it seems to sustain already well, I can’t really tell if he’s at full throttle but It wouldn’t really matter

All Eurofighters should be able to carry every equipment that they carried, regardless by nation (unless it uses some brand new system to mount them/removed some system)

For example Italian Eurofighters, normally they carry IRIS-T, but can carry ASRAAM too, although can’t find images of both ASRAAM and IRIS-T being carried. Images are from the Italian EFT threads

Is this a Typhoon exclusive rule or is it general? If it is general then I have question number 2.

You’re conflating “nerf” with “artifical nerf”. A nerf means being tuned down. An artificial nerf means it’s being tuned down with no basis. In real life, it’s not holding speed at 9G (12G ingame) like it does ingame. It’s not matching or beating climb records either. These are just nerfs. Not artificial nerfs, because there is a basis for these nerfs.

If you could provide sources showing it’s underperforming in STR and ITR by a significant amount (enough that it could be actioned on by a bug report) that would be great.

If you mean like in-game, then don’t take my words as official, those are usually given by CM’s or TM’s (sometimes)

I do think that is a thing in game for a long time, with the most recent example being the Brimstones on all EFT, even though some countries and their version could not have them as they didn’t have them back then

If, when introducing ASRAAM and IRIS-T, they add them as Brimstones - to everyone at once (although, as far as I remember, the bomb armament of the Typhoons is different), then I will definitely remember the SAAF Gripen and its lack of 120. Thank you, I will remember this and pay more attention.
