Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 3)

hope they fix the seeker for high speed missile. as for now, some of the long and dual pulse radar missile ( not fox 3 ) lose lock and IOG far more easily than it should.

why would they make a missile that costs orders of magnitudes more just to be worse than their competitor

because they’d never adopt anything they can’t produce domestically lmao

It’s like $1.5 million vs $3 million or something like that, hardly orders of magnitude more expensive

Also all of these US examples still can’t address why the Chinese decided against it

We can hope that would be included with RCS, ECM and TRDs being added. But probably wont be

eh?

Towed Radar Decoys

We saw a keybind for them show up in the last major update dev server

Don’t they have ARM-210 chaff now? And they are getting Britecloud IIRC, and of course already have towed decoys

Ah. Never seen it abbreviated like that. We know decoys are coming, though. Keybind was found last dev & TALD/MALD both found in files this dev cycle. One would expect EW would come with the F-35 as that’s its main form of SP.

xd

You can never predict what Gaijin will do or when.

Half expecting ECM to be added to 5th gens first and come to others the following major update for “reasons”

Block 4 upgrade, don’t know if they’re steaming ahead with it or if they’re replacing it with Britecloud or not. Know a number of ammo troop who have never brought chaff out to an F-35, and as far as they’re aware it cannot carry it.

Don’t know about the F-22.

Eh. Limited scope introduction is sensible imo

Not adding it to something like the Harrier Gr7 in the first update would be a little annoying, but maybe a sensible phased roll out, but something like the Typhoon should get it alongside the 5th gens

You said this about the F-15E/EX and GBU-53 count, yet we have photo and written evidence proving otherwise

God no lol

Uh no, I was correct on that. The BRU-61 was only ever tested on Eglin birds, and failed integration on Sta. 2 & 8.

Just because a junior officer from a public affairs division said something on a blog doesn’t make it true. Especially given that was a blog written on the first live drop of the munition.

even traveling 100km in 90 seconds isnt that absurd

and this isnt that crazy of launch parameters

an F-15C can exceed this speed at this altitude on a standard day with 4 sparrows (significantly higher drag than amraams)

Start speed 2500kmh 😭

Sometimes AIM-9Ms cant even lock on still-burning missiles, 9Ls can do without a problem, wonder if this is intentional bc of the seeker
