It’s nothing more than a radar that works properly. There’s no need for a TWS that loses datalink on a target flying straight and level.
What should it look like?
Only the ones in the fuselage recesses should drop before the motor fires (cold launch)
AIM-120s from rail launchers should hot launch straight off the rail
But there’s most likely an engine limitation that missiles are either one or the other.

doesn’t make sense since they can just model the cold launched ones as a different missile with the same performance besides the launch no?

Afaik there seems to be no game limit, because the Single Pylons act as it should, they go forward and drop, my guess is someone mixed the (animations)
they’d need to make a different version of the missile and add a “fireDelay” line, then the missile would act like the aim-54 or fakour that drop down before igniting the motor

Long ongoing problem. I bet it’s somehow connected to autoswitching. Radars and IRSTs are a very big clump of noodle code that probably still works because of that tf2 coconut on valve servers.
