Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 3)

The Golden Eagle’s and Gripen’s BOL dispenses two chaff bundles simultaneously per trigger pull. It’s fundamentally different from the Eurofighter’s system, so the comparison is pointless.

Yes, so let’s make the EFT’s BOL 2-pop as well. Too much control makes Eurofighter pilots vulnerable; there’s no need for 1 trigger, 1 pop (Or a toggle option for 1-pop or 2-pop)

Forgot about that too.

Or…

Increase the effectiveness of each BOL chaff packet by 4-6x

Though we could do with better CM release configurations, including a pattern release button, where you configure a specific preset of CMs and it does it everytime you press it

Fine, I’ll do it with the euro as well

Haha, yeah… I guess we should start with custom gun belts

Just remove CM release delay. I’ll solve this problem by using a number pad with a 00 key.

… Which one?

The Soviets don’t use anything like BOL afaik. The only CMs comprable in size would be BVP-30-26M on the early MiG-29s.

Unless you’re talking about the large caliber APP-50 on the Early Flankers?

@Morvran Giveth the holy BOL examination thread :)

Is that one now put on the official forum anyway or is it still deleted with the Dev Server thread from long ago?

I mean “Soviet Analogue” makes it seem like the Soviets used some kind of comprable system, Which they didn’t as far as I know.

I do know BOL is underperforming but I don’t remember the exact specifics.

Flame planned ahead for that

Wrong message attached

All normal and large CMs are based upon soviet analogues.

Only BOL is different but modeled wrong

1 message out, woops

I see, I see.

@Morvran

but but but thats imposible

it takes 500 BOL chaff to notch a mica everyone knows this

So… You failed to notch a load of times, then managed to notch one missile, you had loads of warning about… In a custom battle with no server lag or related issues…

And again, I fail to see why this is an argument for BOL chaff to be modeled to be 1/4 the strength of regular CMs and around 1/6 ISH it’s IRL performance.

No other aircraft in-game is “balanced” via much weaker CMs. Should the Rafale and Su30SM2s be switched from LCMs to CMs or BOL CMs for “balance”. And should the Tornados and Harriers be artificially nerfed because the Typhoon can notch “okay” under ideal conditions.

I really don’t get the argument. I will continue to drop patterns of 20-30 chaff on every single notch, because that is the amount it usually takes to consistently notch a missile… In an actual match.
