Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 3)

no lol

No, but been a few times where MAWS didnt seem to detect ARH, I think because of the erractic flight path they can have

notching the maw

Basically :D

Based on playing just a few matches with ASB and ARH, the number of undetected launches was zero. It feels like undetected launches have decreased considerably compared to before the update.
Assuming there are no changes to MAWS itself, the only plausible explanation I can think of is that the proportional navigation coefficient for ARH was changed, altering the flight trajectory.

Is this what peak performance look like?

no wonder the eurofighter gets only 2 dual racks

I actually would bring this to GRB to do CAP without A2G.

🤨

Knowing the Eurofighter, while flying a loadout like this, it’d still be agile and maneuverable as hell lol

Interesting choice with AIM-9X given I dont think anyone uses 9X on an EFT.

Cutbacks - sometimes the second-rate option / inferior missile has to be used.

Runs for cover.

Oh God, I forgot IRIS-T already exist in the game lol. Should’ve used that instead tho.

Devs will say this is photoshopped for over-delivered-marketing
I guess its too ez to overcharge couple hundred milli for military equipment since the buyers are too dumb to tell that the plane can’t carry that much :D

Only SL versions, and if it’s the same with Gripen then it’ll be bugged and not be visible. When I fired the SLM it launched the whole container! 😂

I mean, it is. And it’s definitely for marketing. The technical capability might be here, but it would require to be certified for such use, and as far as anyone knows in those forums, it’s not.

But its the kind of thing I expect Türkiye to do with their Typhoons, so that might change at some point

I also fully expect all european nations to step up their games for the next iterations of their planes. Rafale F5 is supposed to have increased A2A hardpoint, and it would be weird that the EFT doesnt also see any increases in payload capability

In terms of A2A, I think the focus has been more on other things:

  • APKWS for anti-drone
  • CAPTOR-E
  • Striker II
  • DASS upgrades
  • PIRATE Upgrades
  • AMK

etc etc

EJ200s built in the late 90s/ early 2000s are also coming to the end of their life, so might get replaced with P3E variants with increased engine power.

Then after that its new weapons, with Meteor MLU looking dead, we’ll have to see what they do instead, but likely will involve intergrating weapons being developed for the Tempest/FCAS/GCAP

But for the time being, there isnt any need for increased payload on the EFTs, heck, Dual-rails are barely utelised currently, and the reality is that all it would take to fit more missiles to it is a software update if the need ever arises, as iirc, all pylons are mechanically and electrically compatible with A2A missiles.

and has been marketed for more A2A weapons on those inner pylons

I cant speak of Italy or Germany, But Britain has a proven track record of getting things done in times of War, like the rails on the Sea Harrier being modified to take Aim-9Ls by taking a metal file to the existing rails so that they would fit, as well as countless other weapon trials, whilst enroute south, or all the upgrades the Tonka GR1 and F3 got enroute to Op Granby.

It is possible the problem is no one needs that many Meteors and the degredation to fuel and range is more of a concern.

Its why real Su-30s carry 4 - 6 air to air missiles and not 14.

Best hope is like India with the Rafale, Turkey show a fully loaded Typhoon for A2A.
