Only one nation in game uses it.
Every new jet at top tier will have IR MAWS system
And as you said it would be near impossible to balance.
I see a nerf to range, turning ability and it will end up being flared accidently. I see IRIS-T in game and it is nowhere near what it should be.
ASRAAM will cause great upset if modelled correctly and well Britain never get anything that could be meta. I see 9X and IRIS-T being superior

If Britian can get best version of Typhoon then they certainly dont need Germany’s best IR missile.
Whilst I dont think Britain’s Typhoons should get IRIS-T, because not only would Typhoons with both be stupidly OP but it also creates some diversity. (though if German and Italian Typhoons get ASRAAM, then we 100% should get IRIS-T) But the notion is really wierd. Given German Typhoon’s should not have Brimstone 1s, Paveway IVs or Aim-9Ms. Did germany even ever use Aim-120C5s? (genuinely dont know either way for that last one)
So its a wierd hill to die on.
Anyway, ASRAAM will be the better of the two. So we dont really want to let our ASRAAMs into the hands of the Germans :P Especially when combined with our superior CAPTOR-E Mk2 radar :P and our Spear-3s :P and our Striker II :P
thats why italian eurofighter will probably be the best, (eventually) same aesa as britain while getting both asraam, iris-t and meteor
i mean r73 is also 40 gs instead of the 60 gs it was irl, I can see them doing the same for asraam, although being honest there is probably going to be realistically 0 difference between like 30 and 50gs, the missile won’t be able to pull that much until like after mach 1.5. whats more important is fin aoa
Good thing the entire point of the ASRAAMs design philopshy is raw speed and acceleration. The main reason why IRIS-T will be better off the rails in a ultra close range dogfight is because its actually a snail off the rails in comparison. ASRAAM hits Mach 4-4.5 extremely quickly. Especially if its also fired from something already doing mach 1+.
So it being “poor” performance below Mach 1.5 shouldnt be too much of an issue.
I think this is due to a lack of dual plane modeling but ASRAAM might be single plane?
They have C7 if I’m not mistaken.
As for the Brimstone part it’s a common weapon for all EFT’s which is okay in my book but FGR4 and EF2000 should not be identical in terms of armament section in every way, at least in IR missile department.

The issue being, it isn’t. Germany hasn’t actually even received their Brimstones yet, even less so do they use them.
You mean like the AIM-9M’s Germany doesn’t use because it wasn’t cleared for them but Britain was, which Germany has in-game and benefits from…
Like I’m not complaining about Germany having these things, I think if Gaijin are going to make them all comparable for balance feel free but don’t be gatekeeping things.

I understand that it has it’s own tactical utility, I also understand that 90% of the time people are using 9M’s anyway.
My argument isn’t which is better, its that its kinda ironic to demand British weapons not used by Germany on the German Typhoon, but to appeal against German weapons not used by Britain on the British Typhoon. Rather than just supporting both and letting people pick what loadout they wanna run.

Ahh, my bad, to be fair I have seen and been bamboozled by 9L/i’s then and again that I see smoke for and immediately try and notch/MP, particularly if people are also hard locking you at the same time.
