Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Yeah Flame’s already confirmed it and the usage of the TMC (Twin Missile Carrier) which is the dual-rail.

Haven’t heard anything but I’m just waiting for the opportunity to bug report PIRATE up to its full potential.

It’s fine ish. Though just even more reason for the Typhoon to get continued buffs

Such as:

  • Finished FM
  • BOL overhaul
  • PIRATE buffs
  • CAPTOR-M Buffs or CAPTOR-E replacement (They did elude to giving everyone E-Scan in the CM chat thingy)

Let alone a hole host of outstanding bugs and other issues.

I do expect the typhoon to get continued buffs. It’s like the SAAF gripen where gaijin kinda shot themselves in the foot by adding it so early because now they’re forced to just slowly improve it (see gripen radar, FM, RWR buffs + addition of R-Darter)

Yeah, just need those Buffs sooner rather than later

I suspect they’ll happen about when they should. the SAAF gripen is still viable because of its buffs despite being an old addition.

There’s old unclassified british docs stating that max loadout of ir missiles 6x asraams, I don’t see how that’s achieved without the twin mounts

i was not aware of that, that is why i asked

I have that pic somewhere, lemme find it

assuming an identical motor length, the ASRAAM will have ~70% more motor volume

I think @Gunjob has a technical diagram of the asraam, there’s no need for estimations

Which explains the range difference.

Asraam is also a lot less draggier

Germany initially didn’t invest in brimstone or PIRATE, regardless of what they are capable of using. If they get brimstone on earlier typhoons we should get IRIS-T. If we want ahistorical load-outs because aircraft have the ‘capability’ to use them, then half the UK Air tree needs updating

No.

I just hope ASRAAM doesnt turn like a Stinger.
In my mind I have a mix between an R-27ET and a Stinger.

Easy to flare and with no fins it cannot turn very well.
Remember Gaijin used that for the 120C HOB performance denial…shorter fins…worse turning.

It is the alternate universe Eurofighter withe the SU-27 engines.

There’s too much on it and performance available to have it be bad in any universe unless they choose an opinion over facts.

Due to the nature of it too there’s no chance of reducing its pull via the dual plane thing because it’s such an unconventional approach there’s no amount of guesswork they could do that would yield and sort of credible estimate.

I think ASRAAM will be game changing.

I still see Gaijin pulling a Stinger for it and making a statement like

“We dont see how a missile without TVC is able to achieve 50G pull, therefore we consider this a marketing lie”

Also getting the speed above Mach 3 is going to be a chore.

though at least hopefully it wont spin out at low airspeeds like IRIS-T probably will

Just consider it like a magic 2 and that the rear fins drift out I suppose.

It’s used and quoted too many times to be a marketing lie. Also consider that its requirements were driven by the R73 and its agility. Whilst they may not understand it (I sure as hell don’t) there’s no disputing its factual basis.

I don’t view getting its speed up as a likely issue main concern is the range. I suppose if the skysabre leak is right we will know how it will perform.
