I would hazard that missiles like the Meteor cost a lot of maintenance to keep on pylons and the covers reduce wear and tear for ordnance that is actively carried. Any missing covers would likely just be fallen off or something.
They were not even inert but mockups (i may of slightly taken apart the Paveway IV)

Meteor wasn’t, it was a full inert round. PW4 was mock up sure.

Just flying around in a custom and I took an R-27ET. zero warning, well within MAW parameters. gonna check the replay and see if I can find it.
I know the MAWS isnt full coverage (based upon current sources), but I did notice the other day its really really tiny window at the moment. Doesnt feel right at all
