Yeah seemed a bit odd to me too, but that’s what they said. That was back in 2018 though, so could have changed since then.
Don’t want to.
It’s literally just changing the band of the sensor (or adding -1 to the detection list on the LWR)
Ok, then what do you do about all the systems that don’t use LRF, but also use the - 1?
Well that’s where changing the band comes in, currently designators and beam riders are on 2 separate bands. I don’t see why they couldn’t swap the number of trackers to something new so detecting laser trackers is a new thing.
That most likely requires deeper changes in the code, if it even can be changed.
It really cannot be overstated how good Striker I and II are and how confident they are in their systems redundancy and capabilities, i’m personally very curious to see if for Tempest they just utilise a software updated Striker II initially or whether they make a new HMD.
I think having backup instruments is very important though just incase, there’s no way Striker II has never had a failure of some sort, and expecting the pilot to fly it down without any instruments is no small feat.
Typhoon and ASRAAM so deadly they only need to carry one
Great pics
Wallpaper worthy😳
Much appreciated!
Is it just the angle, or does the AB flame looks bigger compared to in game?
Hard to say really, might just be the angle.
Fox 2 Frenzy (loud warning).
BAe and also me looking at this like
Sneaking in to see some Typhoon photos/videos I see haha. Have a road landing/touch and go.
(loud warning)
Yeah the afterburner definitely develops more than what we have. I guess it’s just in-game afterburner design that makes the flames look more “cone-ish” and shorter.
MKI for reference:
