Yeah this is a big want for me, like yes the buttons are for different modes and we don’t have those modelled in-game but who cares? Just give us a nice cockpit. It looks as if the LED’s burnt out.
And also the new MFD for LITENING/Sniper say it’s in Air to Air mode despite having non of the functionality of air to air mode on those pods so what gives?
Though they do need to come up with a way of displaying radar mode in the cockpit, even if thats just adding it to the radar MFD ahistorically due to game limiations
Probably their only reference material was a photo in that mode or something
Reasoning for that is the buttons are dynamic based on the display selected for each MFD. The devs chose to not include them as they would display the wrong information.
Im honestly not sure why they cant make them dynamic buttons either tbh.
Just stretch the MFD displays to encompass the button locations, make the portions that would be covered by the frame transparent, and change the buttons to the appropriate ones with the currently selected MFD.
What about changing air to air mode on the MFD to air to ground instead? Unless the features of the TGP’s air to air modes are planned then it should display it in air to ground mode.
There’s pilot reports of using LITENING and Sniper as suedo IRSTs or just slaving the pod to the radar like TISEO on the F-14B for target ID. There’s a video on Rafael’s website talking about LITENING and it mentions it’s passive detection ability. So unless features like that are planned for LITENING and Sniper then the MFD should be changed to air to ground.
At least the scan period has gone down though. I can totally cope with the loss of wide TWS, even on planes with functional radar, wide scan is iffy at best. Not sure how the Simmers will feel though.
This is basically a scan zone restructure with a bit of a power boost and correctly implemented electronic roll stabilization.
The new zones will be 60x4 30x8 15x12, but the important part is that now they all have sub 2 second refresh, which should make the target drifting and teleporting less of an issue.
Oh yeah. looks like a buff across the board on everything except our PD track signal (not that anyone is doing STT at 100km anyways). Excited to see why they’ve suddenly decided to actually give the IRST roll stabilisation.
Also, IRST search pattern now has a shorter period with no scan area change, which means PIRATE scans even more absurdly fast.
