You mean the wing snap issue?
Yeah when it just released it was understandable for the first few games, just had to get used to not nuke the S key and the wings would stay intact.

Yea, was truly awesome. Made pantsirs into pantsfullofshit
No, the wing snap issue was solved long ago iirc. I just looked over the datamines again to refresh my memory on the subject, but iirc, ppl complained the jet was “too unstable”, and complained (bug reported?) it to increase its stability, which directly nerfs its maneuverability, but I may be misremembering the part the community played in getting the aircraft nerfed, so grain of salt on that.
Looking at the datamines though, it seems a ton of top tier deltaducks got changes to their controls to make them “more stable”.
Interestingly, in sim, the damping mode for the EFT had its AOA limited to 25deg, which is roughly what it is irl, and something a bunch of players have complained about in the past as the EFT “overperforming” (because it can pull more than 25deg in manual control mode or mouse aim), but following the nerf, they dropped its damping mode AOA limits to 21deg, so thats incorrect now…

Which btw, it being able to pull more than 25deg is a fact irl. The FCS just doesnt let it because of the EFT’s lateral instability issues at high AOA means the aircraft is at risk of departing when beyond 25deg AOA in irl conditions (where crosswinds and the likes exist). In-game, the FCS correctly limited the jet to 25deg AOA (until the nerf), but you could disable it by going into “manual” mode, which, surprise surprise, allowed the jet to pull higher AOA at the risk of departing, so it wasnt overperforming at all.
Ah I understand now, I was one of the few that complained about the rudder wobbling around, but it was because I felt it was left unfinished after the March 2025 major changes to the FM.
I didn’t think the change in the last dev server lead to this tbh.
I loved the rudder prior to the change, had solid authority to it and was very useful, I havent touched it since (in sim) tho, so maybe im making a mountain out of a molehill with the stability nerf. In RB, I never had an issue, and still dont.
That’s fair.
I started complaining about it while running duels I remember, maybe my duel buddy @Jоhan_Liebert remembers that. The addition of the AOA toggle always made the rudder feel awful for me, in mouse aim mainly, but even with the limiter ON I thought it still didn’t pull like it used to.
As for the air RB bit, the issue could be mitigated by handling the jet a bit more, not just with mouse aim but by rolling a bit softer with A & S, maybe that was skill issue on my part, but when evading in general I didn’t pay enough attention to do that as well.
Can’t speak for sim as I never play the mode, but maybe you are right and the rudder + damping was indeed not a bad experience.
I kinda wish they’d just remove the FCS rules turn off/ AoA button or whatever its called from the Typhoon
It simply doesn’t have the capability to do it IRL - seeing people use it to make the Typhoon do backflips is just… daft (this probably applies to alot of other 4th gens aswell bar the RU stuff)
The entire FCS architecture of the Typhoon is designed around not allowing the pilot to do something stupid - the Jet will just tell the pilot “no you’re not doing that, I’m taking over here”
I don’t mind the AOA toggle too much, maybe it was even a way to kinda make people shut up on the FM changes that occured in the same update (march 2025).
To be fair by switching control type you could pull the funny moves (like front flips/backflips) prior to the AOA toggle addition.
The only part I dislike about the Aoa toggle in general is the mouse aim bit which is a bit wonky for me, sometimes it does the complete opposite of what you’d want it to do.
because it does everything to keep you wings level , which makes small adjustments and its turns very wonky
to get any utility out of it you need to keyboard fly
Can someone tell me STR and ITR for EFT in game and IRL?
Bug report for the STR Community Bug Reporting System
Bug report for ITR Community Bug Reporting System
Both are stated within the reports, wether the in game numbers are still correct to the current version is unknown to me
Does ARH track better after launch with narrower radar boresight due to higher refresh rate?
yes, but at that point you may as well hard track them if your not trying to be sneaky about it.
so narrow soft lock won’t do as much as narrow hard lock?:
Is there any fix to radar and pirate locks autoswitching yet?
They probably do about the same, the problem is whats the point if you can only guide one missiles at a time anyway? SO you may as well hard lock em.
I usually chase ppl top down in the EFT
I’ve always wonder if missiles still get datalink in below pit bull envelop.
Dont think so, otherwise they would actually ignore chaff if you hard lock them. Maybe the d with its gns but im not the guy to ask about that.
in these situations, they only take datalink info if they don’t have a lock on anything, that includes chaff, if the missile is coming in a top down angle and the enemy is flying low, it’ll be on the PD mode and won’t lock chaff when the enemy starts to notch, so it’ll go to IOG + DL and will have higher chances of reacquiring the enemy, for GNSS missiles, this situation is a lot more lethal because the missile is precise enough to hit even without having a lock on the enemy, something IOG only missiles can’t do with consistency. on the other hand if the missile isn’t coming top down and/or the enemy is flying higher than you and starts to notch, your datalink won’t be helpful as the missile will lock the chaff and ignore datalink info
If you don’t make enemy plane break DL - these missiles will reliably hit you even with notch and chaff.
I’ve been there, notching over 90° and chaff still get hits
