Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

I think the focus has been on other aspects

  • DASS upgrades
  • PIRATE upgrades
  • CAPTOR-E
  • Weapons upgrades and overall capabilities
  • AMK
  • HMD upgrades (and cockpit overhaul)

In fact, come to think of it, almost every single other core aspect of the aircraft bar the airframe and engine have been upgraded or are in the process of being upgraded. Though I wouldnt be surprised if t the next major upgrade for the Typhoon might include engine overhauls, a “EJ230 MLU”

yeah i hope they do upgrade the engines since all of the named aspects also add weight.

Spoiler

imo they are way too slow with everything

Wait which IRIS-T?

The SLM, its Lofting is all over the place in the wierdest way possible

SLS also does it for some weird reason, I guess they likely copied the same code for both

Its the problem with how vertical launch is coded. In the launch phase it forces the missile to kind of level itself after the initial vertical period, and then enables normal guidance logic.
I dunno how it would work if it were to end the launch phase when the missile is still vertical, but overall it causes this type of stuff.

So, maybe new Typhoon damage models and MFDs soon then, not explicitly stated, but possible.

Also we finally get good sounding aircraft back this month

Smin confirmed to me last major that both the Euro and Rafale would receive them, not guaranteed it’s gonna be this update, but seeing how many internal modules the last major brought it might be a possibility.

As far as I saw for now the “top tier jets” that are getting updated are the F15’s and 16’s. (I don’t consider the Migs as top tiers)

Yeah, its possible, or they’ll be last

You can hire the Chinese game devs to do it seamlessly

APKWS-II is now in operational service on Typhoon in the RAF

Warheads currently seem to still be PD fused (Mk. 435 Mod 1), rather than the FALCO proxy fuse

Mk. 435 Mod 1

Nice photo from the trials against airborne targets. Seems it’s cropped from a MoD video of the trials, but I can’t find the proper source for that video

takes a few months to integrate a new type of weapon (rockets) onto a Typhoon, but years/decade(s) to integrate Meteor onto an F-35

One does not mention F-35 on these hallowed pages good sir!

Shudders.

I can’t WAIT until we get the tiny 35A fleet-within-a-fleet up and running with the resultant supply woes that entails.

Never underestimate a British Engineers ability to bolt new kit to their airframe :D

on this

When i went to RAF Hendon back in April there was a Nuclear Depth charge with the Common Lug for mounting

Still waiting on the Beer Barrel Bombs

We could try to press Gaijin to add beer barrels to whatever the D-Day event plane is going to be. Historically correct or not, it would make it more relevant to D-Day operations

That sounds like a plan

Yoink.
