Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Did Typhoon entered TAF service Gunjob???

Exactly.

We dont even know how many modifications those Typhoons will recieve before the deliveries.

Damn Turkey’s lineup is looking good now, they’re getting the Eurofighter, F-16V, domestic upgrades for their existing F-16 fleet, F-4E Terminator 2020, TF KAAN and possibly F-35’s too.

KAAN is not coming anytime soon and they can already forget about F-35.

Its the whole reason why they decided to buy EFT in the first place.

Last I saw they were aiming to start delivering it by 2028-2030 so it isn’t too long.

Yeah I thought I saw something about them being back in for it but after looking again they are still out of the program.

Yep, let’s hope they go a bit nuts with the EFT

hopefully lots of new weapons we can shoe horn in with gaijins “Technical compatibility” excuse

and they might also shoe horn other upgrades like AMK, Turkey just feels like they’d go through with some of this stuff

(maybe even EJ230 or TVC but thats very unlikely, as EJ230 never existed and TVC was experimental only iirc)

Can only be a good thing

230s would be hilarious

Yeah Turkey claim lot of things, like making a new 6th gen engine that would match f-35 one while they have no actual idea how to make one…

The (kinda imaginary) EJ200 P3Ec (Stage 3) anyone? :D

100 kN engines rather than 90kN

(iirc)

probably actually warrented as Rafale is getting the uprated M88 TREX in the F.5 version (73kN to 88kN)

with AMK it will make the EF significantly more capable than it already it

It’s kinda impressive how they’re planning to get that small engine (69 cm inlet) to produce from originally 50/75 kN to about 60/88 kN. That’s nearly 9 tons of thrust for such a small engine (90 cm overall diameter and 354 cm length).

Advancements in technology will do that

Even 75kn would probably make an early jet engine designer faint

Tvc too

I know but when you read with what kind of mechanics they try to offset the difficulties in developing the materials your eyebrows will rise into your hairline lol
For example: Currently they’re trying to implement “plasma cooling” by continously coating the turbine blades in a thin plasma during operation to form a type of barrier against the heat.

Sorry, I came over from the Snailmine Discord and thought this was the Rumors thread.

Turkey also claims KAAN will be superior to F-22/35 while they have zero knowledge on building 4.5 gen fighters, let alone building proper 5th gen.

They also claimed that their new engine is capable of producing 43k lbs power without any realible source.

They couldn’t even produce Altay tank despite they announced that it was going to be in serial production 12 years ago.

I like their efforts but lets be real, most of their claims are just empty.

yeah, 43lbs engine power is totally unrealistic :p

I mean considering F35 engine also produces similiar amount of thrust its not completely unrealistic.

Truth is Usa one of few countries that is specialized building very powerful engines and they spend almost 2 decade to create that engine so when suddenly Turkey comes out and claims they make similar engine without actual experience on very advance avionic principles it doesn’t sound realistic at all.

If they were so good at building engines/planes they wouldn’t buy Eurofighter Typhoon in the first place.

You guys sound like you’ve met your first china
