Yeah but just about everyone is at MP level so amraam is basically useless lol.

I personally don’t trust it anymore, if I die at low alt and I was trying to MP, I always think that I made a mistake in order to get in that situation.

Nothing can beat the good ol notching. That is 100% reliable unless you’re in a 1v2 or more.

As for AMRAAM I wonder if it a passive thing to make Russian gets more competitive at that br.
Seeing as they are outclassed by western jets in BVR quite a bit.

That reminds me my recent encounter with enemy MiG-23 in my German F-18.
I was flying at 8k and launched Aim-7P from 18km’s, he just flew straight and took it like absolute chad while getting demolished.
His R24R almost got me tho Xd.

could just be the Aim-54 effect of having a massive warhead.
You can still notch without chaff reliably, unless the enemy is guiding the missile with DL all the way, which will make it much harder because the missile will often re-lock for a second when really close to you (2-3km away) and probably hit you with IOG.
The faster the missile is (less lead required) and the larger the explosive payload the better the chances to damage someone that is multipathing. Aspect is also relevant, when coming from high up it also helps by a lot

Not against a MICA… Seriously, this missile takes all the fun out of <20 km engagements as it’s really difficult to notch with chaff (relocks like there’s no tomorrow) and impossible to notch without chaff… Below 5 km a kill is guaranteed due to TVC.
You can, but it’s indeed more difficult because you have to be very precise
TVC has nothing to do with what I think you are trying to say, but the mica is the fastest accelerating missile. If you are close to a notch you can still avoid them at short range, but if they keep being guided by DL is very hard
