Well a few tens is at least 20 seconds. Assuming EFT’s max launch alt of 55,000 ft and no loft even with that you go like 30km. Which by the way exceeds MBDA’s baseline 25km+ figure.
First of all, bring this to the r-27 thread lol, this is the eurofighter thread.
Second of all, r-27er basically matches its range charts (actually slightly underperforms but it’s close enough, @DirectSupport could attest to that).
Its seekerhead in terms of notch resistance is actually underperforming, as predecessors of missiles like it, for example the r-40r, has a much lower notch gate than it for some reason (±7m/s irl!) but it’s not unique in this underperformance (Skyflash for example should be ±3 knots if I remember right)
It’s datalink is overperforming, as irl it’s not able to resume datalink once interrupted for more than 3 seconds, but it’s a convention for datalink reconnect to be a thing for fox 1 datalink sarh missiles (see aim7p)
The actual issue is chaff is underperforming (horrifically at that) making everything difficult to dodge. ARH missiles just have gigantic notch gates which makes it less of an issue.
No not talking kinematics, yes appreciate it’s fast and can be guided by DL but in game it is near impossible to defeat and that is wrong when you can chaff a 120 at 4km away why should an R-27ER be so lethal?
It is poorly implemented and needs to be readjusted to bring it inline with realistic performance (and I’m not even including the it cannot be launched under 3000ft)
They are horrendous, it’s mad to think a SARHM could and is more dangerous than an ARHM. I understand from gameplay/balance well you have to guide this and the other is FnF but come on no one is sitting here thinking yes of course R-27s are the best missile ever made.
….
It’s min altitude is 20m irl

That’s not what I read the R-27 seeker isn’t inverse mono pulse like on the Aim7M/Skyflash but the one on the R-24 was and that was because the R-27 was the start of Russia realising you fight at higher altitudes
non-MICA ARH hehe
💀
Why would they go backwards
Cost, would be the guess and the fact the missile is designed to be DL at high altitudes

…anyone know what this does?
Its the ESA “fix” for now
what does it do though
Noone knows really
Iirc fast TWS is the instant updates ESAs have once they aquire a target, soaybe they turned those of?
That can’t be, it wouldn’t be an ESA without it and would impact reliability hard.
And no major change i can spot while playing too.
.18 isn’t live tho, so you wouldn’t be able to notice it already. But you’re right, it wouldn’t make sense. However, it’s passable as a band aid because right now ESAs are completely fucked
P sure fast tws was a line added this major
