There is a dev comment, but it reads more like excuses than legitamate concerns.

This is true, but it also has a LOBL mode of operation and Gaijin has never been afraid to modify or fake seekers before. Many missiles in-game operate in entirely fictional modes of operation for the sake of gameplay. Such as the AJ168 Martel.
Spoiler
So again, just add them with a LOBL mode of operation. Would be simple enough. They literally gave two examples of a LOAL weapon with fake seekers
This was the same update that added the SU-34 with KH-38MT and was 6? months before anyone had anything that could even handle the SU-25SM3. So it was complete nonsense answer given that Brimstone 1s, especially fired from a Tornado, have less range than an AGM-65
As for Smoke… well just add smoke with chaff, and make Brimstones be blocked by said Chaff. WW2 tanks have IR blocking smoke that they did not have. I dont really see the issue with just giving everyone at 11.0+ smoke that can block Brimstones. Especially given that large warhead, fast IOG AGMs like KH-38MT like to just ignore smoke anyway.
Only if the player chooses to fire them at a teammate. Sure in the LOAL mode, there might be issues, though the Brimstone is able to ID targets. Though IRL you wouldnt have Leopard 2s fighting Leopard 2s, so instead Id just give them IFF.
The only remaining issue not mentioned is one of quantity, but between the helis with 16x FnF and the fact that this is a really easy issue to mitigate with SP cost. Its non-starter of an issue.
So we dont really know. They dont care when they added various weapon types in totally fictional configurations or ignore bug reports for literal years, Hell. all evidence suggests the KH-38MT never existed, it was just a mockup, but the Brimstone… they wont touch beyond a reskinned Hellfire missile because it MUST be LOAL or nothing at all. Its frustrating.
Even more so that they wont even add SAL Brimstone 2s or GNSS Spear-3s to at least buff us without MMW and it is this that has me most annoyed. It’s one thing to deny FnF because “reasons” its another to deny a decent SAL Weapon with all the issues that come with said SAL weapon.
I get teamkilled by JAGMs like every third match because people just spam them off at anything with no regard for friendly presence. I don’t see how brimstones would be remotely different.
Also the most hilarious thing about this statement is they gave the solution to their own invented issue in the statement: just… don’t give it that feature??
Not even that, the seeker we have by technicality is fictional. The missile was originally MMW and had the SAL added later to allow for ground forces (or the aircraft if self-designating was needed) to designate a target, which could either be used until impact (what we have as our only option) or just to cue the MMW onto the correct target…
Community: “Plz add F&F brimstones” Gaijin: “We wont add F&F Brimstones cuz we dont wanna add LOBL, we will restrict that feature on other missiles” Community: “Then restrict it on brimstone to add them?” Gaijin:downs entire bottle of vodka “We couldn’t POSSIBLY add a missile without all its features!” Community: “You literally JUST said you would though?!” Gaijin:Already back to cooking up another 12 buffs for the Rafale cuz its fans cried it was becoming “obsolete” again (the winrate dropped by 0.00000001%)
Tbh I can live without fnf brimstones, just give me 30x of some gnss ordinance. It’s fun and takes more than 1 braincell. Damn I want that bomblet dispenser for Tornados, doing SEAD runs with it would be so much fun…
I kinda think we should have something like that though, which implements MAWS tracks, detected RWR pings and engagement zones of SPAA etc like the real EFT scope.
Maybe that’s too in-depth but at least giving you 360 degree coverage would be a good prep.
To be honest I don’t think the 90 degrees of the radar scope is going to change the gameplay that much, having an aesa is going to be much bigger than the gimbal limit. For example, the last plane in the game to have a 90 degree radar limit was the mig-29smt on release, and we all know how garbage that plane was even though it had both the best radar missile and best radar in the game at that time.
Indeed thats true, TVC normally supplements standard controls iirc they optimised the EFT one to provide the minimal speed loss possible during inputs at high speed in coordination with traditional flight control surfaces.
In game you just bleed everything and EFT already has a slight issue with speed bleed/regain after a turn.
