They might just rely on the fact that when 5th gens are added, theirs will be the one jet that gets LDIRCM transplanted from helis

Russia does have iir though, k-30/izd 300. Although… i forgot if it was actually mounted and test fired or was just a mockup/plans. It definitely existed though at least as a shell
Always thought the R-74m2 was the end of the line missile for the russians, but if this thing can be added so be it, I had no idea it existed tbh.
If they dont have the advantages of the systems then adding them in a downgraded state. Defeats the purpose and leans into well Russia don’t have a missile as good as the ASRAAM, 9X, IRIS-T etc.
So to make the R-74/73M perform as well by removing the key attributes of the other systems.
I honestly see ASRAAM will be modelled like a faster R-27ET
Ah yes adding more Russian systems that haven’t been tested (we have no data on) and will invariably end up being the equal or the superior to actual in service systems.

can someone explain why FNF brimstone would be bad for the game? like would it not be like LMUR and JAGM we have already? and with those type of missiles it does not matter if the cant be defeated as most of the time you will have no idea one is on its way to kill you anyways.
I think the main problem is the platform it can be mounted on (EF) and the sheer amount of brimstones that can be carried
I honestly think FnF should be implemented but restricted in numbers, but I dunno if that is going to happen anytime soon

because it would be sooo much fun to have to play against proper IIR
I’ve made a custom (super lazy) CAPTOR-E recently since I’ve finally been able to get around to missile and radar testing and I have to say, even though I’ve limited it to 90deg gimbal limits(going over 90deg forces a circular radar display atm), the CAPTOR-E is going too feel like an absolute treat once added.
I’ll post more updates about it when I do a better job modelling it.

I mean, if they manage to make it worse than mine, it’ll have to be worse than the CAPTOR-M, cuz mine atm is literally just a CAPTOR-M woth adjusted scan patterns and gimbal limits, which is why I called it lazy 😅
Reason I said it felt so nice is that 90° of gimbal lets you just non-stop track a jet as long as you dont turn away from it completely. It really does feel good not having to worry about pretty much ever losing your track.

Yeah but in a typhoon you can’t fire from a notch because their missiles are limited to their gimbal limits. While other planes have missiles that have no along restrictions (mica, r771). So typhoon won’t be able to actually take as much of an advantage of its gimbal limits as other planes
the recent contrail changes make BVR seem a bit more viable, being able to launch and then crank TWS while notching will help with that. pretty niche use case but yeah
