Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Because among other things the thrust-loss after a high-g maneuver is still not fixed…

This was explored, it was just loss from slowing down at high AOA, less speed > less air in the engine > less thrust, there isn’t anything to fix.

Where muh PGM 500 (totally game changing trust)

Then it should hit other planes just as hard or even harder? Especially those with the intakes at the sides and not at the bottom because the airstream is hindered there.

Full strength PGMs would be nice for SEAD in ASB if nothing else. Shame their range is so massively nerfed

It’s the same on all planes, once you slow from say 1200kph to 600kph you will have the same thrust as if you were flying 600kph.

Looking at the thrust output after a 12G+ turn and dumping loads of speed and thinking it must be some spooky bug. Its not, you just slowed down.

Is that not the point of the variable lip intake?

Have to test that again, but I had the impression my F-15E accelerated without much delay at a tremendous rate after a high-g turn and a bigger slowdown than in the EF, while the EF accelerates slower (at higher speeds than the F-15E) but gets faster the moment it picks up speed again.

Nothing like that is modelled, if you are at 40° AOA @ 600Kph, you have the same thrust as level flight @ 600Kph. You’re all just learning on the fly what high instantaneous turn does to your airspeed.

Fair enough. I just dug out my EAP book and that is indeed more or less the point of that intake, as well as ensuring coherent airflow at high AoA margins and providing engine growth potential.

But I accept that its a model limitation here.

But that requires effort :( Gaijin doesn’t like that. Next major you’ll get a Australian Superhornet copy and paste and you’ll like it!

Unfortunately. That is what Im potentially expecting

To be honest with you if the only way to get the F/A-18F in-game is through Australia;

(because Gaijin seems to not like adding twin seat versions of planes (especially to the nation that actually built them cough cough F-16D))

then I honestly wouldn’t mind getting that over an AESA EFT (for now anyway especially if the only difference it will come with is the radar which is what I’m personally expecting Gaijin to do).

maybe the T4 EF will come with a HUD that isnt stretched

Or a working gunsight.

Or the PIRATE MFD page.

wow slow down there now you are asking for too much at once

Clearly a marketing lie

Surely we will get the Taurus Instead now that an report went trough as an Suggestion))))

before the addition of LMUR and JAGM type missiles on platforms with DIRCM I could kind of understand their hesitation but now we have helis firing off very good FNF missiles that are also nearly invulnerable to SPAA so I don’t believe gaijins arguments against brimstone FNF as the EFT doesn’t have magical DIRCM. I hope we get something better soon as its getting boring with laser guided only weapons.
