I just always find in RB that the last target in the sequence is the one I actually want to shoot at. The new click to target thing is handy, but can be a little unreliable

Which radar are those pics from?

I think they’re actually part of a simulated ISAR image dataset, but I know both CAPTOR variants are capable of ISAR.
Doubt they can return that image though, they’ll just feed it into a computer that’ll just spit out “Su-27”

The bug report has been accepted btw, even tho it comes from a VERY generous interpretation of the Rafales stealth capabilities, along with a rudimentary understanding of NCTR capabilities…

Im pretty sure it’s established that modern radars like CAPTOR use many things that aren’t JEM for target identification (e.g mapping out intensity over the aircraft’s length, or just outright ISAR). It’s been discussed somewhere on the forums before too. Probably here.

JEM is what gets you the American radars that’ll tell you “hey he has 1 jet engine ok good luck :)))”
Most radars advanced enough to give you a type probably also use another method on top.

Yeah I knew that part, was just funny to have an ISAR image of the Rafale despite what the french mains claim in that bug report

They could just set it like the uneven weight distribution limit? Where you can have any number of munitions in any combination as long as its within the limit. I also dont see a problem with them not limiting the number of SAL munitions you can take, you can make a fairly good argument that since they havent limited the number of laser guided bombs in combination with FnF munitions, that it would be acceptable.

Still would restrict ARB/ASB.

I maintain they should just make weapons cost per-weapon and then have it increase proportionally as you mount more. Like you could in theory have 18 radar brimstones but it’d cost as much as a nuke and at that point just spawn the nuke. Consequently you:

  • don’t affect arb
  • don’t affect asb
  • affect all ground modes without preventing lighter (3/6x) loads

and to be honest. I’ve alwyas thought it wierd that 2x Hellfires cost the exact same as 16. 0 incentive to ditch some hellfires for some rocket pods on the Apache

Nukes are the dumbest mechanic ever added to the game, and this would be a VASTLY superior way to handle it imo. It would resolve 2 issues:

  1. Nukes are an unfun mechanic for all but the person dropping it at that moment
  2. Large quantities of F&F on any airframe is unfun to deal with as a ground player

It would reduce the impact aircrafts with F&F munitions would have on the general match state, since to spawn match altering quantities of F&F munitions, you’d have already needed to have done well, but it would also allow the enemy team a chance to fight back, and both teams the opportunity to keep playing without getting punished for a single player having camped a spot really well that match.

I think a good chunk of that is how heavily caps and assists contribute to sp, the feel much too high, Ive had games where I got nukes from just spotting and assists, which is a little silly.

If you do enough scouting to get a nuke I think it’s justified

JEM is capable of identification too. Every model of jet engine has a unique modulation “fingerprint” so JEM can identify the model of jet engine, which more often than not leaves you with only a couple of possibilities ethe aircraft.

I dont think it matters how you get your nuke… one player having the choice to end the match for everyone just because they did better than others is just the most idiotic and unfun mechanic there is.

“Oh well, I had fun this match, so screw you all, I’m going back to hangar and taking you all with me”

Hey guys, if some proof for inner pylon amraams ever came out, are there any sources or docs that say the CAPTOR can have 8 datalink channels?

Just the picture of an Mockup and the stuff on paper with old Loadouts, but nothing else as currently. I send an Mail to the BW and asked them if the Innerpylon can be used with an AMRAAM in theory or if thats not possible…

All the docs I’ve seen say 6 datalink channels.
