Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

Thats rather funny :D

Though is useful to know. When you see a US aircraft, you know to keep an eye out, they like to TK

I think it just pulls the name of the aircraft.

Different typhoons come up with different names too.

And tornados.

Yeah, looks like it. They took a shortcut

It’s fair. I wouldn’t expect them to write a whole new set of name presets for one aircraft’s HMD

I was just exepcting them to C&P the NCTR list actually and then expand it

Looks like they fucked up the character set cause i’m about 95% sure Z is not in the first 20 letters of the alphabet.
Ignore “^” being there.

On a more positive note, the PIRATE cueing is real nice for ID at range (not that it matters with NCTR doing it for you)

I could probably check his ordinance from here if he had any.

Yeah, im looking forward to being able to run silent.

HMD for IFF, PIRATE cueing for target ID.

just need ot be able to fire AMRAAMs via PIRATE like we use to be able to do and should be able to do and we’ll be a powerhouse

Would be even better if we had the TWS on PIRATE so it could also come up on the HMD…

Yeah, that would be useful

I wonder if piston-engined aircraft are also designated this way? Even though it’s hard to even discuss a datalink for something like a Bf.109.

In fact they are.

Well I expect this all just placeholder, maybe how the HMD NCTR works would be the same as the Radar NCTR which would mark all props as PROP.

@Gunjob apparently the eurofighter got an HMD colour update with .10, could you by chance show us the change or secret until it goes live?

Literally 2 posts above you there’s the new allied aircraft view which is yellow.
Currently it’s green + yellow not full multicolor

Nope, as I wrote the Change I am speaking of was in .10, which was released shortly before rhe Dev closed again…

The hope is its a fix for our UV filter, which has thus far largely been cosmetic since its introduction

Fairly certain it can display red too IRL. So its also possible they’ve incorporated that as well

I see, my bad

Yes but as gunjob said, red is for threats that are not yet represented on HMD

Exactly, yet.

who knows what they be adding.

Also, entirely possible that hostile radar contracts were red?

I have no idea either way, but wouldnt surprise me

I dit think they should, and I don’t think we should hope they should (if that make sense).
It’s more logical to keep radar contacts green and RWR/MAW warning reds since it’s give a much better understanding of what you can fire at and what you should defend from

Should be about historical accuracy, if source exists for how it should look, then those should be all that matters
