I’ll look into it. Anyway the MAW does need a change, it seems to be guesstimating missile position half the time, even while the aircraft isn’t manoeuvring so the MAW should be able to detect the missiles exact position, might just be another case of AESA being modelled as a rapid scan mechanical radar
I dont think its even modeled like that.
It’s modelled as entity tracking lol. It’s perfectly accurate without any error, MAW modelling just sucks bottom line.
The UI doesn’t help; it only shows missiles as coming straight toward you as it was designed for MAWs that couldn’t tell direction and position, only angle. Half the time a missile will just be passing by you; but the UI makes it seem like it’s coming straight for you
Wait did I see that right? Can’t be. Shows a typhoon with no afterburner flying at Mach 1.31🧐 must be more marketing lies
It’s very very similar to how RWR works, we just have rangefinder=“true” and something about the closure rate being “200”(m/s?) whereas most MAW don’t.
Again, like in the video, that altitude indicator is present again.
This is from the typhoon simulator
This goes for both RWR and MAWS though. Its the inadequacy of the entire interface
Third person thermals
Yeah, that would be really cool. But was focusing on things that the game could actually handle. I doubt it would handle that just yet
Just realised. the upcoming radar UI rework allows for the radar screen to be interactive, which may make a system like priority track for 6 targets actually viable as the UI can allow you to just click on them.
I hope they don’t just restrict it to “point and click”, and that they keep the keybinds.
ALT + mouse cursor wouldn’t allow you to maneuver the jet while targeting, unlike keybinds…
they said they were keeping current controls and this is just for people who want to click the buttons
Didn’t they also state that they were taking away part of the radar logic? (in the segment that explained the new target selector of the interactive radar UI)
I thought that meant that since it becomes interactive the “radar target selector keybinds” were no longer gonna be there
Edit:
I’m referring to these keybinds btw:
I have the same concerns, so we’ll have to wait and see, but I definetly see a forum post for improving this when we get our hands on it
That scenario is more like my interpretation of that part of the CM disclosure, they might have actually just meant that we can have an interactive UI while still being able to use our keybinds.
I tried asking Smin, but he was probably overwhelmed by the amount of pings when the CM came out.
Anyhow, if they were to take away those keybinds, in my opinion, it would be annoying.
Edit:
This was the message
Yeah, that is what im hoping as well, but Gaijin seems to have a bit of a bad habbit of taking something away when it should have just been left as an alternative
It would be really cool if we had some kind of callsign ability. Like to put in our names or on our jets. Like how we have squadrons, we could have callsigns. These callsigns are pretty cool though.
(These are public as of today, they were released to me, any doubt DM me)
Yep, I agree.
oooo
