oooo
I know, personally i think we have the best callsigns out there. But if we had these as little emblems we could put on the jets or little selection we could put in our names instead if the squadron. Or the squadron leader can pick a callsign to be used for that squadron.
Helo @Gunjob , sorry to bother, do you happen to know if this will be the case?
(spoiler contains the “potential” issue)
Nothing will ever beat a flight of FA2s with the callsign of SATAN going to a train exercise in Spain and somewhat offending most of them because of it :D
What are the reports on the Eurofighter currently under development? The ones that are definitely being reviewed or worked on to fix.
Is there any way we could get an option to disable the flashing on missile warnings on the DAS UI element?? it is immensely annoying trying to maintain situational awareness when the missile is only actually there for about 1/3 of the time. I totally missed an incoming weapon earlier because I got the warning, checked the MAW for a second and it was blank (because I had missed the incredibly short flash of a missile it provides). I see no reason why the missile warning can’t just be persistent especially when it would hugely help with knowing how far it is from the aircraft using the ranging data we get as well.
Should only be persistent if it is an active threat and remains a threat. Did the missile hit you?
What he means, is that missile indicator flashes on the RWR, even when it is constantly tracked by MAW.
This is how it looks, missile icon flashes
It might have been out of the FoV of the MAWS
No it saw it. I just missed the flashing warning.
Just seen the MAWS icon buried in there. My bad.
I think they should experiment with adding RWR and MAW indicators like the hitmarkers on Tanks
Ofc should be a toggle
I think another thing that would be nice for the aircraft that have it (e.g eurofighter) is a DAS output (MAW+RWR+LWR) which is stabilised to the horizon. It can be immensely confusing when i’m mid evasive and RWR contacts jump between the left and right of my aircraft.
That’s because you are in third person view.
What he means is when you roll, and a contact is on the left, RWR contact will switch between left and right.
well yes. Its an issue for him because in third person view the camera stay mostly horizontal. But, in reality, or sim for that matter, its much better to have the MAW unstabilized to have better situational awareness
Even in SB though, it will be on the left for a 180° arc. Especially with no context cues for where the contact is relatively speaking and when hard maneuvering, the contact could still be bouncing between left and right of the airframe which can be disorientating.
A more advanced RWR that gives at least a vague indication of relative target elevation (could be something like ^ above or below the contact that can stack twice, each one denoting approximately 30° of elevation or something). , as well as adding things like MAWS contacts to the HMD and also having the option to have HMD be visible in third person. Would be a great additions
