Eurofighter Typhoon (UK versions) - Technical data and discussion (Part 2)

because it is mid, obviously. If it had something that isn’t AIM-120, then it could be something else. AMRAAM lack of close range performance (currently the most important metric for a Fox-3) makes the gameplay of Eurofighter pretty boring, that’s why it is mid. Only thing that is even more mid is F-15C Golden Eagle

So everything that isnt a blatantly busted Rafale with blatantly overperforming MICA Uberdeathsticks is “mid”?

Certainly the best looking top-tier jet pretty much forever at this point.

What does that mean

No, i’d say Su-30SM is pretty good, if Gaijin will buff AIM-120 so it will not severely lag behind at close range performance (or make it harder to counter at medium-long range), then Euromid and F-15 also will become pretty good aircrafts (Euromid might even become Eurogoat considering amazing FM)

I mean are you showing something about it that has changed in the dev server?

Yes it was gone in .32 due to the new 200° FoR radar. Its now back.

You are basing the performance of toptier jets solely based on the performance of the missiles they carry?

That’s quite a narrow set of parameters, I must say.

That is the set of parameters defined by current ARB meta. Closer to the release of Fox-3s into the world of WT meta was flying high, flying fast and rippling your AIM-120s that outranged everything else and people didn’t really knew how to counter properly. Nowadays meta is slinging missiles from a notch at HMD ranges or closer. That is why Rafale is dominating at current top tier, and will dominate no matter what you do simply because MICA is leagues ahead of everything else in these conditions. You can even release F-22 tommorow, but with current AIM-120s it will loose to a Rafale.

Interesting take. MICA is definitely overperforming but I don’t see how MICA is going to take down an F22 that it cannot see.

But that’s all besides the point anyway

MICA will have no problems with seeing F-22 from 15km, dude

I suppose you are right. Let’s get back on topic shall we?

No probs. Captor-E probably gonna be the best radar after the release, looking at the gimbal limits and scan areas. I hope 120s gonna get some buffs so you would be able to actually fight back without relying on your enemy being bad. Would kill for Euromid even with R-77s

With all Typhoon gets upgraded radar and also more missile count, it would make the aircraft now pretty comparable to Rafale, since with current standing, Rafale is the only aircraft at 14.3 (soon 14.7) that only had 8 missiles.

200 Degree Scan Coverage is good, it would make smart Typhoon player can play aggressive and passively by consistently notching.

The increase in missiles does not make up for the HOBS performance and better missile.

I wouldn’t compare for example compare the F-4S with the Mig23MLs for this same reason. (Pre radar nerf on those tho)

do you know if the PPI RWR display will ever become like, a hybrid/situational awareness display?

Su-30SM also had HOBS Missile, and it’s still mid because of the FM.

Typhoon FM are okay now because of the new AESA Radar as you can speeding while notching. And with such very high VnE, you could scan wide zone without having to fear your wing ripped out like Rafale that have comically low VnE for toptier standard.

I’d agree EFT used to be mid, but because of compared to Rafale, it’s still the second best jet in the game, and with this AESA and extra 2 missiles, it’s now first and half the best aircraft in the game.

I don’t know about CAPTOR-E being the best radar in the game.

By all accounts CAPTOR-M should have been the best PESA radar in the game but the snail simply said: “Njet, manufakturor is lyink” and made it completely unusable for the first 6 months.

But I havent tested it on DEV so I hope it will be. I seem to remember though that the AESA on the Rafale was purppsefuly left in an underperforming state untill the rest of the techtrees got AESA.

So who knows what the snail comes up with
