Captor m is not an ESA radar it’s a normal mechanical radar like an apg 66 or n010 for example
Regardless it should have been thr best M scan radar in thr game, and it definitely wasnt at launch and still isnt today
Doesn’t seem like it will properly demonstrate where the target actually is in relation to you if they’re off to the side or slightly to the rear.
A target that’s actually 90 degrees to your left or right could show up in the frontal sector of the radar screen.
I’m confused, why are the edges black? Can it not lock on a target if it goes there like the mig-21 radar?

That’s ridiculous imo, if the pesa of the su-35/su30mk can do it in the 2000s then surely an aesa made a decade later could do it.

its harder to visualize in B-Scope sure, but the LSZ is easier to read in B-Scope.
I don’t think that black box is currently doing or meaning anything, the ESA updates work outside or inside the green area, I suspect its just not working properly with the 200° area.

Is it not just because to scan the outer areas it has to move the swash plate? Thats why its not being scanned

Like say you first make the plate move to the right, detect and track the target, then move it to the middle to scan. Wouldn’t it move the plate every so often to update the scan on that first tracked target?
Damn, now the interface is working, its possible to actually judge the radar and its awesome. No fighting or waiting for it to lock, it just… does…
Cant wait for it to be buffed even more :P

Typhoon is not meta right now 6 120s and 2 9ms. However having the extra 120s will help. But as the person points out 120s are really easy to dodge and then when you get too close all we have is the gun as the 9M wont pull the G the MICA/MAGIC 2 or R-73 will.

The new PPI scope also looks pretty awesome. I usually stick to the B-Scope, but I can see this one potentially being useful for situational awareness. Main problem is the colour of the targets seems quite faint against the background, also it’s harder to see the target’s vector. Also I wish we still had a key bind to toggle scope type, rather than it being a setting you have to go into a menu for (no idea why they removed that key bind).

What are you smoking this time? By far the second best plane at top tier is not meta? It’s not a Rafale, but the EFT still requires very little effort to do well in.

Su-30SM is more meta and has better missiles, better Radar
Typhoons fm is massively superior.
But it’s payload is currently weak and it’s Radar is difficult to use
With an extra 2 120s and new Radar Typhoon will close the gap on Rafale.
