With all Typhoon gets upgraded radar and also more missile count, it would make the aircraft now pretty comparable to Rafale, since with current standing, Rafale is the only aircraft at 14.3 (soon 14.7) that only had 8 missiles.
200 Degree Scan Coverage is good, it would make smart Typhoon player can play aggressive and passively by consistently notching.
Su-30SM also had HOBS Missile, and it’s still mid because of the FM.
Typhoon FM are okay now because of the new AESA Radar as you can speeding while notching. And with such very high VnE, you could scan wide zone without having to fear your wing ripped out like Rafale that have comically low VnE for toptier standard.
I’d agree EFT used to be mid, but because of compared to Rafale, it’s still the second best jet in the game, and with this AESA and extra 2 missiles, it’s now first and half the best aircraft in the game.
I don’t know about CAPTOR-E being the best radar in the game.
By all accounts CAPTOR-M should have been the best PESA radar in the game but the snail simply said: “Njet, manufakturor is lyink” and made it completely unusable for the first 6 months.
But I havent tested it on DEV so I hope it will be. I seem to remember though that the AESA on the Rafale was purppsefuly left in an underperforming state untill the rest of the techtrees got AESA.
Su-30SM is better than Eurofighter exactly because of HOBS missiles. You can work around mediocre FM. I won’t say no to 2 more AMRAAMs but they are definitely not gonna make it close to the Rafale by simple fact that notching AMRAAM is waaay easier than notching MICA. And if both you and Rafale are in a META stalemate, aka both in a notch and both using HMD - Rafale will still have advantage. Even Su-30 with R-77-1 will have better chance of taking you down than you with AIM-120.
yes, but R-77-1 has much better acceleration and pulls way harder. This makes your reaction window significantly smaller than with 120A or C. And MICA accelerates even harder and pulls even more on top of having slightly better seeker
Would definitely like to mention though as an add on to this, more missiles is DEFINITELY a positive and I thank gaijin for exploring this option. Though I do think it would’ve been better to add them on the inner wing pylon as we haven’t actually seen either option explored on the aircraft in service.
My overarching point though was that the quality of MICA as a missile and the lack of a HOBS missile for AIM-120 users is the primary issue with balance here imo.
Just the fact that MICA’s vastly outclass everything else by a huge margin.
But more missiles simply IS better yes, for the EF. I would have also liked them to use the inner wing pylons sinca that, at least, has been shown on drawings despite it never having been seen IRL.
That’s ridiculous imo, if the pesa of the su-35/su30mk can do it in the 2000s then surely an aesa made a decade later could do it.
I’m sure gunjob or flame are writing up a bug report for that
I don’t think that black box is currently doing or meaning anything, the ESA updates work outside or inside the green area, I suspect its just not working properly with the 200° area.
