I don’t think we will see the first mode (select area with autonomous target aquisition) ingame sadly ^^
So yeah, most likely laser until mmW which would still make it inferior to IR missiles, except the seeker range would be comparable to current ARH missiles (>20 km).
I think they’ll go hybrid. Will have LOAL, but extremely small scan area, like 10x10m or something. So its little more effective than a decently sized GNSS bomb/cruise missile, unless you use the laser
So if you fire at a target on IOG and they dont move, it will hit
Hmm, that would be a way. Interesting in that aspect will be the seeker aquisition range.
Yep, knowing Gaijin, shortest possible range they can find evidence for
Ah, so the 1,5 km range xD
Read somewhere that the missile seeker has such a short range in LOBL mode because of too much clutter nearby (airframe, rails, etc.).
I just recently played this game. Over the course of 5 minutes & 40 seconds, a AH-64E fires a total of 72 IR missiles, destroying 18 vehicles. (as well as dropping an easy nuke at the end of the game)
How can this coexist with laser guided brimstones, because developers saying 18 fnf of them would be overpowered, when helicopters like the AH-64E can fire off 72 missiles in less than 6 mins???
Everything is balanced as it should be /s
thanks you for the video, i will def use it when say that the new heli with is worse than the other
And the fact that there can be 2 or 3 or 6 helicopters up at once, I’ve seen games where there have been more helicopters than enemy ground players. How do they even reconcile the fact that there can be that many aircraft dishing out 32 to 64 missiles in the span of 5 minutes? While the Eurofighter with laser guided Brimstones is bordering obsolesance in GRB because of the new SAMs. HOSBOs won’t cut it as “compensation” we need FnF Brimstones now that we can have 100 IR missiles being fired in a single game.
and thats just ignoring the elephant in the room.
EFT can actually be engaged by any top tier SAM and it actually has to defend. A lot of these news helis can defend by sitting AFK.
My honest reaction:
Take the Paveway and cluster there spawn ))) this was btw the result of just 2 PW4 for the Multikill
I’ve been getting 5 to 6 helicopter kills with Brimstones per game, I have not used it as a ground attack weapon since they added SAMs to other nations, it’s simply not possible to guide the missile while being engaged with 50G thrust vectoring missiles.
You cannot defend and guide at the same time.
I still dont get it, like lets say true MMW is OP, specially if you have 18 missiles of them, but instead of denying F&F at all for an single type of Plane, how about bring it in as F&F, but Instead of true MMW, make it TV or IR as an Placeholder seeker…
Like, it would not be the 1st time of using an Placeholder…
Back in the Day when the Tiger UHT was added, the PARS worked like an Hellfire, no F&F at all, just the Laser Guided version, and later when the game was (Ready more or less) it got changed to its F&F
Yeah, no idea. Not too mention just SAL Brimstone 2s. There is no excuse for them not being added
Having to grind another plane JUST for a better radar is going to suck… hoping for at least any F&F weaponry or just something else to make it more worthwhile
Doubt it, since the EF we have could get everything right FnF right away, grinding another 400k RP for a radar upgrade is going to suck. Not to mention that it will not get any crazy AAM missiles. Just plain old Sidewinders and AIM-120, they really need to give it better air-to-air otherwise the radar upgrade is not really worth it. But there is nothing they could add to it that would not break the game, the jump from sidewinders and AIM-120s to AIM-9X/IRIS-T and Meteors is massive.
still more worth it than the new f15c
only really gets a radar upgrade over the old one at 2 br steps higher, at top tier where everything else out classes it
First time grinding a jet with only 1 mod difference for 400k rp lol, get in line lmao try 3 times
Initially, its gunna be a bit brutal I think. Unless we get something awesome like ASRAAM as well, I can see most of the other changes being secondary (I.e different cockpit, HMD, Tpod, etc)
In the long run, this is probably the healthiest option though, as it leaves the current airframes as solid 14.3s and it means this new airframe can get all the upgrades we could ever possibly want without creating gaps.
