This is still no excuse for BOL to be artificially nerfed through the floor. Especially given how many aircraft are suffering at the moment due to those nerfs.
Its a bit like removing IRCCM from the Magic II because the Rafale is doing well. I dont think the earlier Mirages would be fine.
Hu? Whats that got to do with the price of bread?
So? Because Britain has the Gripen C with okay short range ARH, the Typhoon for Britain, Germany and Italy need to be nerfed?
Hu?
So everyoen can get AESA but Britain, Germany and Italy cant because? We must be last?
Thats it’s core problem, it now is very much a support fighter.
We need more missiles we need more effective missiles.
Radar is still very slow to refresh and track.
Now each update Typhoon now is slipping behind
Dude chill out lol, as I said before, it took the Spring Update for Russia finally had proper Gen 4.5 Aircraft, I don’t mean to gatekeep, just predicting how Gaijin treat “Gap” between countries.
Okay is such an understatement, South African Gripen is really great because you had a very potent HOBS Fox 3 and at the same time, a very good FM compared to Israeli F-16D Barak II, also NCTR at 13.7. And again since this is pretty much British EFT Thread, I also more talk about the British Tech Tree in general, compared to Italy and Germany, Britain have a very solid aircraft to grind besides the old lord Phantom FGR. 2. And due to Gripen way more fun to play because lower BR, that’s why Typhoon feels mid because stuck in between limbo.
Well, Gaijin still haven’t addressed that thing, so I just talked about how to circumnavigate the nerfed. I’m okay with Tornado ADV, since pretty much most radar you fight are HDN, only Flankers are your greatest threat. Gripen with BOL are still pretty overpowered (I think it’s because of the BR too), while Typhoon I like the Rangefinding MAW, but Rangefinding MAW from my experience at least only detects missiles when up close, while Optical MAW despite saying it 5 KM, it actually can detect more than 5 KM especially if the missiles have higher velocity towards you. And because of that, you can’t chaff dumping especially against MICA due to that lower luminosity so that’s why I think the biggest victim of BOL is actually just Typhoon.
Fixing AIM-120B and AIM-9M is the quickest way making Typhoon at least pretty competitive with current meta but at the same time, not changing the meta very much. Reverting the AIM-120C-5 seeker to be like B is such a fatal mistake, it literally makes C-5 pretty much worser missiles compared to B, it’s like AIM-54A compared to AIM-54C
I agree with that but Gaijin added Mirage with MICA which ruined the Gripens Rat party trick. With R Darter being massively inferrior.
You couldnt joust with R-77 and 120 throwers and you still only had 4 ARHM :,(
It took an entire year for Britain and Sweden to get Gen 4s. I think we are well worth making some noise, especially after the last year.
Harriers too. Their insane Heat sigs coupled with the weakest flares in the game results in the T10, GR7 and FA2 having a terrible time flaring anything. Especially as the flares drop in-line which should be a good thing but with the BOLs current state… Is the exact opposite.
BOL needs to be fixed ASAP.
Yeah, but they wont.
We dont even get IRL lock ranges for the AIm-9M, only reported 3 years ago.
But Im sure R-73s and Magic IIs will get more buffs soon…
Oh yeah, I totally forgot Harrier lmao. Yeah, the biggest victim besides Typhoon is Harrier, because others would pretty much just use BOL as Chaff instead of Flares.

Yeah, but they wont.
Then what’s the point of beaching here? I know Typhoon is very mid, but making unfounded claim is way more stupid. Magic 2 got its IRCCM iirc along with the introduction of other IRCCM-based IR Missiles. I don’t think AIM-9M would be kept like that if Magic 2 got its more accurate seeker, and especially other IRCCM Missiles that either have R-73 IRCCM or AIM-9M IRCCM.
My biggest hope, apart from the obvious fatal flaw that is the Captor M, would be to see a FM that behaves better at high alt, the bleed rate past 6000/7000 meters is insane if you ask me, it’s like you have the airbrake constantly on.
How is it wrong? Its SEP values are over performing I think at high altitude especially. SEP is energy loss when turning basically (specific excess power)
After the FM fix in March the jet just wobbles around because the rudder behaves like shit tbh, and that makes you bleed quite a big amount of speed, I’m not asking for the insanity that is the Rafale energy retention, but just an FM that you don’t have to fight against while defending or notching.
most of you lateral stability in level flight is created by the vertical stabilizer which is much less effective at high AOA, and further reduced at altitude
