oh btw it supercruises at mach 1.5 without a load and reportedly between 1.2 -1.3 with a combat load (expect 2 FT and missiles)

Yeah there’s a couple of sources for its supercruise that can be found further up but this one I believe you’ve already posted states Mach 1.5 with an air superiority missile loadout, which is at least 6 missiles if not 8.
Adds to a previous one I found suggesting similar.

What are you talking about? The real world documents state 1.4 mach for the Gripen when loaded with a specific payload. Gaijin doesn’t model mounted ordnance drag properly (developers intentional decision)… thus the Gripen can nearly super cruise with full air to air loadout. The top speed won’t be limited, thus the high speed w/ ordnance won’t be as much of an advantage as it should be for the Eurofighter.

How so? Ordinance has a dedicated drag coefficient when mounted.
It’s too low. It can be observed on PGM-2000. As this guided munitions cannot hit properly target at distance if drag is increased and it doesn’t make sense to increase drag only when mounted - its low drag. This results in very low drag compared to few 2000 MK84 bombs when flying at full throttle.
The mounted drag coefficient exists, but Gaijin has chosen not to model it properly. There is a very minor effect. The JAS 39 as an example should have a maximum top speed of 1.4 mach with full air to air loadout + drop tank (iirc)… the Eurofighter is claimed to be capable of supercruising with such a loadout and yet it won’t be at much of an advantage compared to the contemporaries due to this game design decision.
Another example is the MiG-29 and F-14, both would have drastically lower top speeds with full ordnance mounted (Especially the Tomcat, and especially at low alts)… but they simply don’t have these issues. Eurofighter will be no different… hence my comment.

It’s not opinionated, it’s true or untrue. Is it true that the eurofighters high top speed with large payloads will not be as much of an advantage due to the developers game decision? Yes.
If all other aircraft are not penalized for carrying a draggy payload, the advantage the Eurofighter has in that regime is less. There isn’t much to disagree with here.
