maybe, but priority is SLE, and since something there just broke massively I doupt them for the EF this patch
What do you know about EJ200 and EJ2x0 Stage 1/2/3?I found in my search that their thrust can reach 103KN and 120KN. Is this true? Which European fighter jets use this type of engine?

I would still like to know if they also plan to install the wingtip containers. The EF would then lose its towed decoy but gain two additional weapon stations and more powerful EW capabilities. Additionally if the QRTs of the Arexis wingtip containers could also act as radars they could replace the current MAW.

They could modify the rudder and install it there possibly.
it will lose the TRDs but they will not be mounting the gripen’s tips. just the EW part
part of this is unrealised growth potential of the EJ200 engine. would require a bunch of new parts and redesigns and no one is paying for it as the EJ200 is already quite fantastic
Aren’t the wingtips an integral part of Arexis? They contain nearly all the transmitters and receivers for the EW capabilities (except of the single mount in the rudder). Otherwise the EF would then just integrate the “Electronic Warfare Central Unit” and nothing else.

I thought you meant they won’t install the wingtips as a whole and keep the old ones. If they’re just installing the QRTs with a different RPS then indeed.
So, gajomb apparently stated that every nation would have at least one AESA radar by the end of the year, so what are your thoughts? Would it be another EF or they would just drop something unreasonable in a tree?

I can’t think of anything else (un)reasonable which they could put into the tree… It’s all too far off…
Netherland, Switzerland and Denmark did the direct jump from F-16 and F/A-18 to the F-35. So if they don’t want to add the F-35 at christmas they have no other choice but to add another Typhoon.
I dont think anyone has an alternative to the EFT bar F-35 for Germany or Italy.
Britain could get a few options, but none all that good.
So I dont think they have any choice other than AESA for EFT.
The question is, how they’ll do it.
How I would do it.
Add the T1 Typhoons missed to “replace” the EFT at 14.0/14.3 and then add AESA to the current EFT in game move the EFT with AESA up to 14.7 with the Rafale CF3 and then add ASRAAM/IRIS-T to the “current” now 14.7 Typhoon with AESA.
Then in the future, add a T4/5 EFT with AMK, Meteors, etc.
