Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

Well, we know the GMTI will come back to the Captor, when? No date, just an SOON

I hope it gets a massive overhaul next major patch and maybe some nerfed 4th gen IR missiles to say sorry, since the only thing the EFT lacks is off-boresight capability

Wont happen… because Gaijin forgot how to make nerfed missiles after the Magic 2 went to normal

yeah Brimstone against helis are quite effective I found. The only issue is that because there are no proximity, fighting heli with LWS is a bit pain when they could just move 1mm aside from Brimstone’s trajectory and it wouldt be detonate

I just researched the squadron JF-17 and guess what, the radar is much better, the targets does not desapear from tws, the 50x8 scan is is perfect speed and area wise, ghosts targets does not apear and the radar locates the targets faster (tested in test flight)

in WT logic, the radar of the cheapo low cost plane is better than the one installed in one of the most expensive fighters in the world xDD

bruh… how high is the chance that the IFF of the Radar is broken too?
just had an SB match, radar said its an enemy… after Aim-120 hit it, it turned out to be an Friendly Rafale…

Im guessing 4th gen ir missles are coming in summer time. Would be perfect time for them to be introduced.

Idk how well it performs on tornado but on typhoon, you can impart it with enough speed that no matter what the helicopter does its not gonna be able to escape it. Also remember you can release it without a laser lock and activate it once it gets closer but on most things that arent YAH64 the MAW is going to pick it up one way or another.
I just find the heli without laser and then leave the laser active once i get within 4-5km range so that the helicopter doesnt get spooked too early or try to shoot at you.

I think maybe on lower performance strike aircraft this year. but I wouldnt count on top tier fighters like the Typhoon yet. Possibly better Fox-3s though like Aim-120C5s

i would love a ground focused year for one

Which is why I see relatively minor buffs like going from Aim-120Bs to Aim-120Cs as a way of maintaining balance without adding Gen 5 IRs into the mix. Though as someone who doesnt care about ground at all, I hope air isnt abandonned. Though better SAMs would mean CAS can get better weapons and we can stop nerfing the hell out of jets in air modes.

i mean whats the definiton of abandonnement?
i mean lower brs could be flashed out as well, cold wars early modern
But not pushin the air top tier br every freaking new patch.

I would rather they use resources to focus on ground for once, even if its seperate teams they still can be used to focus on rounding out ground top tier

I have no issue with seeing the addition of lower tier stuff, sure. But at the same time, just look at all the missing features of the Typhoon that is a “game limitation”. Would be nice to see continued work on getting those items added and plenty of older aircraft suffering from that too (like Tornados radar for example)

I do think air needs nudging a little. Additions like Gripen E and Su-30 are needed and that will naturally require a little nudging for other nations too, like Aim-120Cs for Typhoon.

But given we havent had a new air EC map in 2.5 years and ground seems to get a new map every singel update. It would be nice if air got some of the attention ground always seems to get as well.

That’s because of no IRIS-T

Yes, that’s what they’re saying.

I hope gaijin can add this kind of format

Yeah, thatd be fantastic, it actually mentions 2 MFD displays I previously mentioned, profile and C-scope. Id also like to point out that we could theoretically get an approximate vertical scan volume for the radar for at least one scan pattern using this image, as it displays an almost 90 degree vertical scan area, which is substantially larger than any vertical scan volumes we have in-game.

@Gunjob @Flame2512 any inputs on this?

That image comes from the manual for a Microsoft Flight Simulator X / Prepar3D add-on so can’t be treated as a source for War Thunder purposes. Information on the elevation profile display can be found fairly easily in other sources, c-scope would be harder.

No idea if that vertical elevation coverage is correct.

Ah thats why it looked odd, thats too bad.

We do however have the info I posted earlier in the british thread:

Ground and air development are seperate though. Having more stuff added to a certain branch has nothing to do with focusing I’d say.
