Talking about balance in top tier is so hilarious to me, given that its been skewed for years at this point. From introduction of Pantsir completely neutering any planes that are less maneuverable than gen 4 fighters or planes that have poor armaments succh as Tornado ASSTA1 for example which until pre-last update had only GBU16s which were nearly unusable against an SPAA with 18km range missiles. To BVMs having ERA plates that are able to absorb mavericks and 2000lbs GBUs through magical means to the introduction of Kh38 which were able to (and still are) to outrange every single NATO SPAAs effective range by a large margin while being FnF on at first a frogfoot to now basically a fat flanker that gets 6 of them as well as A2A missiles to protect itself.
And thats just Russia.
USA had F16C, F15A and then C to protect from 15+km slinging Kh38s and now has F15E which is able to do both CAP and CAS but thts about it. And the funny thing is that a single somewhat competent player in a Pantsir is still able to ward off strike eagles or the viper with relative ease.
So trying to come here and say “yo guys im just trying to uphold balance, you guys have no clue what balance is” while ignoring the massive positives of stuff like Su34 which is a plane from the 80s as a russian answer to the strike eagle and not a 4.5 gen fighter such as EFT seems pretty hollow or maliciously ignorant.
Top tier has not been balanced in ages, it wont magically start being balanced now, every single update is going to bring something new, something that trumps the competetition. Same way as we went from F16C being top dogs, to gripens to SM3 Frogfoots, to Su34s and F15Es to now EFTs and Rafales. And next update who knows what it will change to, F18s, Su35s, Mig31 and 35 etc.
If you truly wish for “balanced” top tier youd be advocating for the removal of pretty much 60% of what makes top tier.
Of course it’s unfair!.
The Soviet branch has access only to weapons of the USSR/Russia, and because of the mess that WT has made with Soviet technology in other trees, the West receives both Western and Soviet weapons/Russian.
We’ll have to wait to see once they add the GBU-53 (in files) imagine a gbu -39 with IIR, Laser, GPS, MMW (will be removed probably), and IOG all in one bomb
Idk, I think it will get at least 20 to match brimstone/brimstone 2 count
Even with better guidance modes, it’s still a glide bomb and it’ll take forever to hit it’s target assuming they don’t just go behind cover, while a brimstone 2 is gonna be going a whole lot faster through its flight path
To be fair all the ones I can think of off the top of my head from high tier to top tier all are eastern style equipment with Soviet or Russian weapons
Su-34 has only a single positive, they aren’t plural.
This is how you keep adding more and more powercreep, thus making the game more and more of a cesspool.
Of course that new stuff has to come, but it should come with additional BRs as a way to balance it out. We wouldn’t be even having this conversation if we had something like 13.7 BR in GRB.
I’d rather add stuff than remove them for sake of balance.
Adding more higher/top tier AAs will help.
Adding more BR steps to better differentiate between vehicle performances will help.
Nerfing US jets’ and Rafale’s A2G capabilities would help as well, but I’m more for those two first options.
Under no circumstances should a dedicated strike aircraft, a bomb truck, the replacement for the F-111 of all things, get its ground striking ability nerfed
It only carries 6 mavericks with less range and speed than Kh-38
wouldnt they have pissed of whole world in the recent years they propably would have gotten sth by now.
But it simply isnt politicaly possible anymore in this climate. Right now its limited to historical stuff.
Thats what they are getting, same with other nations if a sub tree doesnt get added.
But best guess the guy is crying about how russia isnt receiving more targeting pods, when they were saw in exhibitions with the french ones etc.
But the simple answer there as well is, they arent historicaly used can even be sure if they were workable on the exhibits
