A new update, but still nothing has changed in Catcher M
There’s some radars the typhoon rwr won’t recognise, the ka-52 and su-33 come to mind recently, are there any others?
Also the Eurofighter in other teams shows up as unknown on the cockpit rwr screen but not the rwr itself
Only noticed the Su-33 at the moment.
question marks are still J-10 and Su-33, the F-15E was for a couple of days but that was fixed
I think J-10 might be working, at least I think I saw J-10 RWR marker the other day.
Can the eurofighter determine if a radiation source is emiting from above or below it like some of the russian rwrs?
It would be a good capability to have in sim
Id be surprised if it couldnt and I think the voice warning thing does call out if the missile is high or low
IDK if it’s indicated on the overlay, but the voice says high or low. Altho, I feel like its mostly tied to the maws. maybe its cope
EFTs MAWS irl has the capability to determine distance, angle, and time to target i.e you (it’s based on a series of PD radars systems) - so yes, in game however, it doesn’t do that.
but this would be at a very reduced range from radar no? and give off a very big signature from multiple PD radars all over the aircraft?
I don’t know the exact range, but likely +/- 25 - 30km range is probable based on the PD radars of ARH missiles and when they go “online”. Better person to ask would be @Flame2512
Are those the ECM pods on the Wingtips of the EFTs?
no these are the pods like for under the wings
Meant for the Eurofighter ECR?
yes
nvm i take it back that was the NGJ for the Growler
Is Eurofighter supposed to have ground datalink?
Not so much, because it works in band that is not present in the RWR band range of most if not all of the fighters and on top of that, being a small AESA, it has LPI modes. The range is about 20km, maybe 25 against big targets.
That’s no RWR, that’s DRFM jammer, capable of jamming AESA radars.
