Is there hope for the Pirate on the German EF?
@Smin1080p_WT are they planning to add PIRATE to the German Eurofighter or is this one of these weird dev things
Hopefully. It will also clear the road towards AMK for all EFT users in the future, otherwise only Germany would have a claim to it due to having tested/trialed it.
I think AMK wouldn’t really be that useful in game
It gets max about 10kg less or its about even, its not making up for anything.
Rafales ITR is around 32°/s and STR 24°/s with up to 32° of AoA.
Do we have current figures of both in WT??
Because if i do quick look on google, usually EF is stated to do 1-2° less in both cases.
The EF is significantly under performing in ITR and STR in game currently. The ITR of the EF prototype with tornado engines is 29.7d/s and the STR of the same prototype should be well over 20d/s as the prototype exceeded the 20d/s requirement with the engines with significantly less thrust. This is with full fuel and 4 missiles.
Actual built in service typhoon should far exceed those numbers especially in STR simply due to the lighter and significantly more powerful EJ200 engine.
In game the EF fall short of even the Prototype numbers by about 5d/s
EFs (online) data is based on the prototype with weaker engines and an unpolished airframe, full fuel and a missile load. The requirement, however, was to achieve >29.7° ITR and >20° STR (the prototype exceeded the STR requirement by about 5° from what I remember), currently the EFT manages just about ~23.5° ITR and ~16° STR. So in terms of STR, the EFT should be more than a match, in fact it should perform better once fixed (>1°+).
But, from what Flame and Fireball have told me, the EFs (finished one, not the prototype’s) ITR has been stated to be at least 32°+, STR, as @oppsijustkilledu has already mentioned, should also be higher than the prototype’s.
I think most important problems are Radar performance and random wing snapping.
I tested Viggens radar and it performs much better when it comes to scanning speed and rate, meanwhile CAPTOR-M struggles to see this right in front of it.
Also random wing snappings are so annoying, past couple days my EFT broke its wing so much it made me pull my hairs.
Aaaaand the source for these claims is exactly where.
If this can be trusted. Its actually rafale which is missing 4°/S in sustain and both are doing WELL over 32°/s ITR but thats due to higher WT G limits. If i limit it to 9Gs, they are closer 3° more than aaustrian papers for rafale. If anything EF2000 according to what can be found is overperforming by 2° and rafale underperforming by whopping 4°. If these charts are correct, i dunno. I dont have ingame flown chart at hand.
Blue is rafale
Orange is EF
@Fireball_2020 has the documents and they have already been submitted to the devs
Also those charts hilariously wrong 💀
In the bug reports.
If anything EF2000 according to what can be found is overperforming by 2° and rafale underperforming by whopping 4°. If these charts are correct, i dunno. I dont have ingame flown at hand.
These graphs are far from accurate and taking them at face value is uh, interesting to say the least.
If you read what i wrote, you would notice that i dont know if they are right and that i dont have on hand STR and ITR of these planes handflown in game. Do you???
Yes.
Spoiler
Wouldve rathered they reverted the ahistorical buffs to the Rafale and kept PIRATE off the german EFT, but atleast if they go through with this, they couldnt be accused of selective application of their rules.
That being said, I still think this whole Rafale HMD + 8MICA and German EFT PIRATE situation is a can of worm gaijin should never have opened, and very much should be attempting to close, not doubling down on.
Other nations mains are going to start begging for all sorts of prototype equipment, test weapons, and export configs and are going to cite the Rafale and EFT getting said things as justification. Itd be less work for gaijin to just remove the stuff from the Rafale, remove the 9M from the EFT, state they werent operated in X nations service, and deal with the backlash.
The elimination of what makes tech trees and nations unique has always been one of the worst things that has been ongoing in this game over the years, and this certainly doesnt help.
yeah I see your point and that way the german Eurofighter could get the AMK to make it unique instead of calling the lack of the IRST a “feature”
(IK it was also only tested but pls give me something on my german EF)
He’s using min fuel instead of max fuel, which iirc is what the EFT’s numbers in thr bug report are for.
Even then tho, startshark has a disclaimer their charts may have issues and are HEAVILY WIP, and I’ve been told the delta ducks graphs particularly are wonky.
All partner nations trialled AMK, it just only was fitted to the EADS IPA7.
the german aircraft yes, if pilots flew it would be the only requirement germany could get a lot more aircrafts
So far I haven’t seen anybody prove its owned by WTD 61, what I have seen is Eurofighter themselves referring to it as an EADS aircraft operated on behalf of the consortium.
I’d be happy to change my view if someone finds something saying its operated or owned by the Luftwaffe, but at least initially all IPA airframes were owned by NETMA.
Given that and the flights were done by Eurofighter/Airbus pilots, it seems there’s no stronger claim to Germany than anyone else.
The numbers in bug report are tested at 100% fuel with missiles though
