I found this really explanatory site about the Brimstone and its versions: Brimstone Guided Missile
There are even sectional drawings of the missile and a picture of its seeker head. Attack patterns + flight path and warhead too.
They create a double pylon for the Aim-120, but they cannot give the same pylon with 1 or 2 Aim-120 to the pylon closest to the body, although the pylon can be hung there, because they are universal (after all, bombs can be hung 3 per wing, and there is the same mount as for universal ones pylons for 4 types of Aim-9/IRIS-T/Aim-120/Meteor.
kinda useless without the altitude specified.
Still not sure how this works btw, its not GPS guided, so firing it froman aircraft with no LOS shouldnt allow it to guide to the marked point no?
While im sure the pylon could be hung there, does the plane necessarily have all of the wiring for those missiles at those stations? I’m not saying you’re wrong, just trying to play devil’s advocate.
It flies on IOG. In game we do not have a way to distinguish if a weapon using IOG is fired with LOS or not, so it just triest its best to get to the SPI.
And loadout also requires authorisation from the manufactures the universal plyon STANAG 4694 is used by all nato aircraft its not a typhoon specific addition.
Ah so its basicly gaming the system…
Not a fan of that.
Unless maybe the missile can genuinly use IOG plus pre-launch FCS data to do those shots, which I guess could be a possibility.
Yea, game limitation as of now.
Sooo… Anyone wants? :D
I think if we used 2 double pylons per wing, we could get 12 Aim-120 + 2 Aim-9/IRIS-T
This is not from the world of fiction
At the same time, we still have 3 suspension points either for tanks, or for a sighting container and some bombs or Brimstone.
I’d be happy if we just got the single double pylon.
The devs have already told you that these renders simply aren’t credible enough for use
You need to squeeze all the juices out of the plane.
So let’s squeeze everything from Su-27SM and put double R-77 under engines and wings too
Funniest thing is that it wouldn’t even get better with that modification
At the same time, the developer has already made a double pylon, which no one knew about. Everyone knew that such a pylon appeared in the museum on a Spanish Eurofighter, but IRIS-T was installed there.
We really should just get away from this “MOAR AMRAAM” thing until gunjob or someone else gets us more info regarding specifics from wither operators or manufacturers. Were just going in circle with the info we already have, and we dont NEED the extra 2 AMRAAM’s atm.
Lets just move on from that point plz.
Sadly thats the only source that says that pylon can carry the missile and the diagrams say otherwise
