Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

didnt work great, so it was canned
there’s this helmet which allows for NVG on the Striker 1

but apparently brit only
iirc the prototype clip thingies had to be released during ejection to not strain the spine too much
Striker II for reference is said to be lighter than Striker I at ~2kg… Ejection safety is a very important thing here

in russia as well, thats why even the tanks come equipped with it

Yeah the only info I can find on that is BAE Systems saying i was being tested at Warton, presumably for the RAF.

So how we all feeling about the addition of the F-15E/I? Do we think its more justification to add the EFT and similar counterparts considering how strong the E/I is?

It will perform pretty similarly in terms of long range BVR and missile defense, although the EFT still has an avionics/defensive suite miles better than that of the F-15E, whether that will be modelled or not idk, but an EFT now would not be out of place

Absolutely beautiful, looks straight out of a concept art, especially with the carbon fibre, Germany is now acquiring them as well as the RAF, idk about other EFT operators

the 15E is going to get its FM nerfed…
but its current performance is sort of what you could expect from the EF

Has someone reported it?

no idea but thats my assumption based on SME opinions 😅

The game has been ready for Tranche 1 Typhoon this additional US F-15E just pushed that.

I dont think Typhoon will be better than the F-15E FMs will be similar both with obscene TWR.
F-15E carries more missiles 8 to the Typhoons 4 ARHM

The saddest thing about Typhoon is how crap Brimstone is.

???

Tranche 1 Typhoon can carry 4 120, the F-15E carries 8

who says that

Every image of a Typhoon shows 2 IR missiles on the outer and inner pylons (unless carrying brimstone or tanks) With IRIS-T or ASRAAM
With Meteor or Amraam mounted under the belly pylons.

Tranche 2/3 shows Meteor on the wings but havent seen Tranche 1 Typhoon air superiority loadout with Amraams.

This is a development aircraft, so pre-Tranche 1, and it can do it:

There are plenty of photos of production Eurofighters with AMRAAMs on the wings too. There is no evidence to suggest Tranche 1 Eurofighters have a reduced missile load compared to Tranche 2 / 3

thats not an aircraft restriction. its a combination of 2 factors
1 lack of stock - missiles have to be refurbished or replaced after a certain carriage time
2 lack of necessity - theres just no need currently
it has the wiring and rails to carry missiles on the outboard wing pylons.

Im glad there are images I was yet to see an Amraam on the inner wing pylon. Common sense would say that if it can carry a Meteor there it should be able to carry an Amraam.

common sense doesnt sway Gaijin when it comes to bug reports

the inner and middle wing pylons do not, currently, carry MFRL and thus no missiles.
technically you can mount the MFRL to those as the hardware is all compatible.
not done, again out of necessity. no one wants to pay for it.
aerodynamics could also do a funny here, especially with the inner pylon but i think it should be fine.
it should pass gaijin’s “technical compatibility” requirement though. however, maybe not the ‘balance’ one

Its sad that this airframe will likely never reach it’s maximum potential.
So many gathering rumours that Britain are favouring the F-35A over procuring and modernising Tranche 4 Typhoons.
We will likely never see the double Meteor mounts.

Germany and Italy are also on the path to F-35 procurement something has to give. And that will be the Typhoon

Seems Europe are keen to just buy US systems and not have to worry about integrating their own weapon systems. “End of the decade for SPEAR and Meteor integration”
