Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

They sometimes bougt lots of stocks…As was the case with the AIM-120A.
looks like chipmunk in fall.

at most there will be maybe 250 c-8s not including the ones from the f-35 order. for 150 or so eurofighters (this number is growing btw). + max 300 meteors (probably less bcs test launches here and there maybe)

the potential order of 1250 iris-ts or so will probably also only result in an order of what feels like 7… pathetic

isn’t they bought 969 C-8s before?

Fair enough, I remeber the SPEAR-3/EW being talked about for the EF ECR, and hadnt heard much since

thats what the US approved as a potential export. approved just means thats the maximum that could in theory be contracted. but it wasnt… total value of that was north of 1bln

hmm, sucks.

Don’t know if it was already posted but found something interesting, more the comparison to the F-18 than the raptor:

I know that it is not hard proof, but it is something.

It’s AGM-88E II.
AARGM-ER is being talked about

I am trying to finish my IPA7 suggestion this week, can somene tell me whether I forgot something or not ?

Summary
  • 4-6x AIM-9L/i
  • 4-6x IRIS-T
  • 4-6x ASRAAM

  • 6x AIM-120B
  • 6x AIM-120C-5
  • 6x AIM-120C-7
  • 6x AIM-120C-8

  • 4-6x Meteor

  • 6x Paveway IV
  • 6x GBU-48

  • 6x Brimstone II / III

  • 2x Taurus KEPD 350
  • 2x Storm Shadow

Also I am unsure which Radar is installed in the IPA7, has it already tested CAPTOR-E Mk.0 / 1 ?

the number of brimstone should be raised to 18.

4-6 IR missiles only with twin rails or if gaijin wants to consider putting MFRLs on the other wing pylons but then it’d be 4-8, not 4-6
same for the MRAAMs, either 4-6 or 4-10
official brimstone count is more like 12 but 18 should be possible
Taurus was only carried for tests and not released but ig its “technically” possible to use
Radar used should be the Mk1 by now for testing

one thing that could be added is GBU-54; integration is unfortunately still ongoing but i’d expect them to be tested on IPA7

oh and dont forget to mention AMK 😅

Are MFRL compatible with MRAAM ?

Also nice picture, I’ll include it.

I know about AMK, I’ve mentioned it in the Background part (so far). xP

MFRL is the rail used for any and all missiles mounted on ALDERU and AHDERU
Inner and middle wing pylons are AHDERU (rated for 2000lbs and 1000lbs with 30 and 14inch lugs)
outer pylons are ALDERU (rated for 1000lbs with 14 inch lugs only), itspl obv IR only
so if you see an amraam, meteor, iris-t, asraam or 9L on a wing pylon and not the ITSPL or fuselage then tahts on an MFRL

it’s like the eurofighter’s LAU-127 in a way

brochure from the manufacturer;
this explicitly states “IRIS-T in Analogue mode” however i believe this to be outdated information from likely pre P2E information
Why? well ASRAAM, AMRAAM and Meteor seem to work just fine with digital links so this is definitely not a hardware but rather a software thing and we all know how slow Germany is with upgrades…

the MFRL can be used for any AA missle that the EF is certified for

Even better than expected, hope we see such loadouts sooner than later XD
Reminds of F-15EX at the moment, damn.

I’ll try to include this into the Suggestion.

Kannst mir per DM auch mehr zukommen lassen.

i dont have much more
unless you want to add AGM-88 to the list as it’ll have to be tested on something and its probably going to be the IPA7 or 8 ;p

for the MFRL btw:

unlimited cooling for sidewinder and IRIS-T

I’d definitely include IRIS-T as digital though… the brochure doesnt even mention Meteor which is most definitely fired from that rail

The last picture You used show the Italian IPA2 development efa.

Yes but afaik meteor integration is on those pylons as well so i’ll count it for IPA7 and its gonna be on MFRL
