Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

F2 would be ideal as the first British EF in WT since it is the first British production variant. Then FGR.4.
No prototypes needed.

RBS-15Mk4s can be used in landattack aswell

hallelulja, european style mavericks

its a bigass cruise missile

how good is the iris-t? and compared to asraam how will it perform in-game

Imagine a 10km death zone in all directions which you wont flare because its pretty much immune to flares

not like we answered that to you /others multiple times already as well 2s just using forum search helps or scrolling up

Seriously, stop your bit to bit questions. All Eurofighters will be pretty much equal.
Any differences propably arent noticeable at your skill lvl either way

How’s that immune to flares?

i am no specialist, but if i remember right the IRIST has a giant POV zone and saves the heat image of the targeted plane. it doesnt get distracted by flares because it constantly just retargets the plane / stays track on it

ASRAAM will be better suited for the meta. It will have higher speed and range, plus it will not suffer from the TVC implementation, which is poor.

IRIS-T however, will be very strong in merges and at higher alts (despite the poor TVC, see the MICA), where air is thing for missile fins to properly maneuver.

Its thermal imaging with internal database. It saves the image of the target plane. It follows not just a heat signature. Flares don’t look like a jet, so will ignore them.

wouldnt be so sure, considering the short ranges of war thunder maps, its either bvr or goes straight into dogfighting where the IRIS-T would be better

Besides that about TVC, you never know, war thunder is constantly still working at it and until the IRIS-T comes will still be quite some time.

Right now tvc is still rare in the missle but the more tvc missle are getting added the better it will work

It realy is only preference in the end

yeah close enough and what i meaned, had that with the database in my head as well. but what i wrote should have been good /close enough to understand

ASRAAM likely has a slightly longer burn, lower top speed but longer range than for this model.

i am not sure that video will tell him anything lol

This is true, I did a lot of playing with MICA on custom battle and if the target was dogfighting with me and was further than 700 metres (but still very close, dogfighting), MICA Pk arose to about 85 %. This couldn’t have been done with Derby or other high agility missiles.

Unless ASRAAM will have very good fins or will be little less slower, it wouldn’t be able to hit some shots because of how fast it goes.

as fireball said, the asraam is slower topspeed but longer burn, the IRIS-T has higher top speed but the additional benefit of the TVC

We can also speculate if Gaijin will add AOA limiter (or timetogain table), which would be helpful in longer range scenarios. I can see ASRAAM getting it if there are some public documentation speaking about longer range performance. Currently MICA EM doesn’t get those, so it isn’t as good at the long range.

ASRAAM doesn’t have TVC, it won’t be hitting TVC shots but it does pull surprisingly well for a missile with 4 fins only at the rear of the missile, (though it does feature lifting body technology to increase maneuverability, I won’t pretend like I really understand that as it looks circular to me?)

Please ignore the background music, the video is not mine, but this is a ground launch from an standard ASRAAM as we would see on Eurofighter fitted to a modified British Supacat donated to Ukraine.

(AFAIK this isn’t sped up either)
