Eurofighter Typhoon - Germany's Best Fighter Jet

There’s a bunch of reports on it but it doesn’t seem like anyone is telling the devs about it.

What about brimmstones? Are we getting the second version?

Reported but u are better of asking gajin.

Nobody knows about brimstone 2/3 implementations

Will we ever get Tranche 4 with IRIS-T and MBDA Meteor and other things? Or we will get a German F-35A? :|

More than likely all nations will see at least 1 more, maybe even 2 more typhoons.

I could see a

CAPTOR-M/E + ASRAAM/IRIS-T + Aim-120C5

version added and a

CAPTOR-E + AMK + ASRAAM/IRIS-T + Meteor

Version added

Me personally would like for IRIS-T to be added for German variant and ASRAAM for the Brit’s and Meteor would be nice but I do wonder, what are the differences between 120C5 and 120B? And 120C5 would be too much of a copy paste,

Yeah, should be unique, but was just clustering all nations typhoons together in one post.

Aim-120C5s add more fuel for the motor, an extra 5 seconds of sustained thrust if I’m not mistaken (totally from memory from someone else’s post on it)

So would have greater range

Somehow after a few “searches” it turns out that AIM-120C5 has around 40G overload comparing to Meteor having 30G (according to what I found). But still more range is welcomed, and also do you feel like IRIS-T could possibly the “next generation” R-73 in this game at 60G and breaks the game?

I’m not expecting to see them in 2025, at least not on the typhoon, because they would be WAY too strong. But double the pull and triple the range of an R-73 and you get something roughly close to an IRIS-T

“roughly close” to an “IRIS-T”

Personally, EF-2000 T4 (Project Quadriga) after EF-2000 (T3 or T3A) to late rank 9 or early rank 10 but battle rating 15.3 minimum

I might want gajin add AIM-2000 (early) to replace AIM-9M on EF-2000 T2 Blk 10 after decompression BR to 14.3

After gajin decompressed max BR to 14.3, AIM-9M replace with AIM-132 (Blk I) on Typhoon FGR.4

I’m not sure about this statement even though I know you’re not being completely serious. I have seen others repeat something like this however. I know the IRIS-T should be the best dogfighting missile in existence, but some of the claims are exaggerated even though it’s an exceptional missile. For instance the claim of 100G or double the pull of R-73.

The claim of “100G” and “double the pull of R-73” originated from sources stating that the IRIS-T had the a radius close to, or half of that of the R-73. People then misunderstood this to mean that the IRIS-T had double the pull or 100G when in reality the IRIS-T just used either a low-thrust engine or some kind of scheme where there’s multiple motors in the missile with only one being activated in order to have low-thrust which allows for tighter turn radius for the missile.

But the low-thrust scheme which allows for a smaller turn radius may mean that the range is its trade-off.

I had a hunch that we wait Meteor for 4.5 gen fighter aircraft from 5 countries until 2030 or 2032

Less average, however, is the propulsion. The IRIS-T is equipped with a solid fuel rocket motor. This rocket motor sets itself apart from others by providing a 4 staged thrust which works as follows:

Stage #1: High thrust to boost the missile away from the launching platform

Stage #2: Low thrust to allow the missile to turn up to 180° at high angular velocities

Stage #3: High thrust to reach its max speed of around mach 3

Stage #4: Low thrust sustainer for minimizing energy loss for longer distance shots

Coupled with said rocket motor comes a thrust vectoring and fin controlled tail section which grants the IRIS-T its super high maneuverability and 360° protection. The IRIS-T is said to be faster than the Sidewinders, it’s been replacing, through a combination of lower drag and higher overall thrust.

Yup, sounds about right, 4 stages. The interesting part will be to see how Gaijin models this.

Yeah, I was just being overly simplistic and I know it’s more complicated than that. But if I were to try and imagine a missile like IRIS-T in game using existing missiles as a reference point, then imaging Magic II or R-73s with a much tighter turn radius / ability to hit something massively off-boresight and at a greater range is a fairly good starting point

Like ASRAAM I’m basically picturing an AMRAAM with an IR Seeker and an overall much lower max range (though I usually fire AMRAAMs at the same kind of range i imagine I would usually use ASRAAM at) but with much bigger pull and scarily fast off the rails

there’s already multiple thrust motors in war thunder. cant image expanding it to do more than just 2 is hard
