At least the reports for the outer pylon dumb rocket pods / gun pods and the extra pars launchers could finaly be looked at those are nearly over 2 years at the least as well, while i think the old site had those reports for quite a while longer as well.
While we all admit the gun mightve never been mounted (if it was classified). However, there exists a certain missile it could be given for capable self-defense.
And it does not need any imagination to be mounted.
I almost always used IRST on the Mig29G, once you use the 2 radar missiles, slaving the R73 with IRST is extremely useful.
It also doesn’t alert someone when you have them locked with IRST, alerts them with PDST
The biggest buff to the Michaels has been the fact Rafale’s radar is straight up superior to EFTs atm, by virtue of CAPTOR-M being modelled like Blue Vixen for the most part, missing ‘features’, TWS straight up not working, and scan speed being way too low.
Alas, they’re also vastly superior in ‘CQB’ ranges, and aren’t a slouch at medium-range either.
Fix EFTs radar (I propose to copy paste Rafale’s AESA code into EFTs CAPTOR-M) and Michaels will cease to seem to be better.
its an improved version of the improved version(haha).
comparing it to “the AIM-9M” is not exactly fair to the 9M as there’s multiple version of the 9M with different IRCCM capabilities just like the L/I(-1)
The RBE2-AA is an indirect buff to the MICA, not a direct buff. My post was referring to him saying there was a direct buff, which is incorrect.
The CAPTOR-M should be similar to the RBE2-AA we currently have and the RBE2-AA is supposed to be significantly better than its current state. Both radars are gimped just in different ways.
That’s why I said they (Michaels) will cease to seem better if CAPTOR-M gets fixed, since it’s not the missiles themselves, but the fact the radar actually works.
How is it false? Right now RBE2-AAs features actually work, like the TWS, the scan speed is high enough that the ‘data refresh rate’ doesn’t just forget that there is a target in front of it (unlike with CAPTOR, which more often than not will drop the track right after ‘acquiring’ it). Have you even seen how ducked EFTs radar is and how many reports are there on it just to get it to a working state? Cause it seems doubtful.
Right now people think MICA is better because of RBE2 being a radar that actually works and isn’t trying to have a boxxing match with you like CAPTOR-M is.
Especially given the ability for the Rafale to fire a MICA during a full notch without effort but the Typhoon can barely find the Rafale at ranges where it holds the advantage. You spend more time just trying to get the CAPTOR-M to see a target than you do, doing literally anything else
