Germany has to get the Tranche 1 Block 5 over the Tranche 1 Block 2, using the logic that Britain’s Eurofighter variants have ground ordinance.
If not, that would just be a stab for German players finally looking for a top tier CAS plane.

AFAIK F.2 means Fightier Mark 2 limited to A2A. And anyways, ger has the best tanks to GRB.
From what I can tell Britain only had access to CAS on the Typhoon from T1 Blk 5 onwards, just like every other nation basically.
Not the first time germans get screwed and wont be the last either.
The IRIS-T is also likely to be the most broken (in a bad way) missile ever added to the game, due to the fact it is heavily reliant on its TVC, pulls WAY more G’s than anything else were likely to see, and uses a different controller IRL than whats used ingame (H-infinity irl vs PID ingame).
Dont ever expect the germans to be compeitive again, they wont be, either by gaijins intentional hamstringing or general game deaign decisions.
Luckly Smin said allready multiple times that we wont get Missiles like IRIS-T and METEOR Any time soon…
With one important stipulation :)
But yeah we are definitely quite a ways away from IIR missiles on air platforms.
idk if were as far as people think we are. Idek if were as far as gaijin thinks we are.
IF the leaklist for december is accurate, theres a more than good chance the EFT, Rafale, and the likes are all coming earlier than gaijin themselves planned.
The F-15I fundementally changed the game, it was a stupid addition which forced the US mains to demand a 229 F-15E (rightfully so), and even gaijin knows it was a mistake, as their EXPLICIT reason for adding the 220 F-15E at first was that they didnt want it to be “the best strike aircraft and the best fighter”. ie; They KNEW the Strike Eagle with 229 was a stupid addition, it was too strong an air to air platform, and they tried to delay it, but some genius thought itd be a great idea to add the F-15I to placate the Isreali playerbase and effe4ctively torpedoed the games air balance.
The Rafale, EFT, J-10B, etc… are likely being rushed ahead to try to add some competition to the 229 Strike Eagles, because the F/A-18’s which were likely to be added this update are all DOA now with the 229 Eagles doing effectively everything better.
I think something similar is bound to happen with the 5th gen IR missiles. Someones gonna get something that turns out to be “too strong” too early and gaijins gonna need to rush them all ahead.
French players are already whinning to high hell they didnt get the MICA IR or AASM Hammer with the M2KD RMV, Isreali players are crying they dont get to carry 28 Spice 250’s for them to be able to kill every player on the enemy team twice over in one sortie from outside the range of any SPAA that could ever be added, and begging for SPYDER AIO with Python 5’s (which are 5th gen IR missiles), some american players are asking for the 9X and a ton of varied ground attack ordinance that would invalidate ground battles as a game-mode. The Russians beg for every possible wonder weapon their favourite propaganda machine has told them is the greatest thing ever made, etc… New weapons WILL come eventually, and I have my doubts in gaijins ability to hold themselves in check from adding anything stupid requiring them to open the floodgates.
I do also think that there is the possibility some of these weapons might be added in significantly nerfed ways, either historical (IRIS-T on F-4F KWS LV with the analogue bus and lack of HMD would make it a viable 13.7 thatd likely still lose dogfights for example) or ahistorical (like the Magic II being added significantly nerfed, and then buffed over years).
to be fair US can get GBU-53, strike eagle can carry 28 of those too
and a lot of the russian/soviet prototypes are pretty cool, wouldnt mind seeing them.
9x is a major stretch though
F-18 never will be as good as USAF kit until we get the super horent with all its missiles. as a pure multirole carrier jet it has a bunch of tradeoffs to raw potency compared to an eagle.
Thats my point exactly tho.
There is literally no point for it in-game. It invalidates ground battles as a mode, and even in Air Sim its WAY overkill (you could kill 2 entire battlefields alone, or kill 1 battlefield and ever convoy on the map, basicly after just ~2min of flight, maybe more if you need to use the radar to guide it into seeker range.
The 114L is a bad addition, any 16x ATGM helicopter getting F&F munitions was a bad addition. Kh-38M’s were a bad addition, etc…
None of these enhance gameplay, they literally just make ground players unwilling targets that cant fight back, and destroy the balance in air battles because the gameplay hasnt caught up to the munitions being added or demanded.
9X isnt even that major of a stretch, its arguably the least advanced of all 5th gen IR missiles, using the old AIM-9 architecture, pretty sure the block 1 straight up uses the AIM-9M motor, just has a better seeker and actuators/TVC.
i mean i get the ground player thing but it cost nearly 10x as much to spawn full loaded CAS jet vs a tank so CAS deserves the advantage
so because cas cost a lot (tough not “a lot” enough that you can still get it easily, 1 kill and a cap will get you fully load cas) it deserve the “advantage” of to be able to kill half enemy ground player in one sortie while being untouchable by ground player? seem balance /s
Britain have mor CAS options then Germany… We talking about plane, not about who have tanks…
Some people just need said “advantage” to be able to get kills and make themselfs fell like they are decent players.
Not me though, I’m just extremely shit at CAS whether I get an advantage or not.
Assuming we received T1 blk.5, and then make list the elements that can be used.
I will approach this as conservatively as possible.
6x AIM-120A/B + 2x AIM-9LI
4x AIM-120A/B + 4x AIM-9LI
3x Fuel tanks
6x GBU-48 1000lbs LGB
LITENING II TPOD
HMDS
MAWS
320 BOLs
32 55mm CMs
anything else? I have written this excluding technical compatibility or formal feasibility.
This is the bare minimum frankly
I’d go so far as to say britain is one of the best CAS nations in game, especially with their GR.7 which is still extremely capable with maverick/TGP combo, same applies to the SAAF gripen. Cherry on top is the IIR PGMs they just got on the tornado, suppose it nakes up for their tanks and recently crappy heli
that’s why. I want to know what can be minimum spec we can have.
Because I don’t expect from gaijin.
I’d gamble that the best A-A loadout we’ll see this patch would be 6 AMRAAMs and 2 Sidewinders, whether M or L/I is gaijin’s choice but as long as it’s paired with HMD and the radar is correctly modelled (for an early CAPTOR-M) then it will be balanced and still very good, any less and there is a major problem since it wouldn’t be any better at BVR than an F-4F ICE or F3 Late
Worst case scenario its still probably gonna be better than the PS/05-A from the Gripen, also its claimed to have twice the power output of the AN/APG-65 on the AV-8B+.
pretty sure for that, we can find many phothos of it.
I don’t expect we can get dual launchers for IR missile.
