Yeah…
Its not…
One of the weakest M-Scans at the moment because they wont actually model it properly.
You either have a radar with extremely slow scan rates but a half decent scan volume, or a tiny scan volume but a half decent scan rate.
You cant do both at the same time, and the scan rate is slow enough that targets actively being tracked on TWS are often just lost.
If they modeled priority tracking, where it would maintain updates on 6 targets rapidly, alongside the standard scans, it would be much better. It would then be even better still if PIRATE with its 200 target TWS (not modeled yet) was usable at the same time.
But at the moment… basically all other M-Scan radars are more consistant to use.
In game it’s being famously refered to as “Craptor-M” for a reason
I think Blindfish-M is more Known ;3
I thought it was “Goldfish-M”? :D
Thats the OG name :)))))
Guys, question…
If someone would work on a Suggestion for a Eurofighter DA.1, what would you prefer?
Option A:
1994: No HMD, No DASS, Only RB199 engines (Tornado Engines)
Weapon: BK27/Sidewinder
Option B:
~1998: No HMD, No DASS, EJ200 Engines(Eurofighter Engines)
Weapon: BK27/Sidewinder
Option C:
2003-2005: (likely still no HMD), but: access to DASS/Sensor Fusion and the EJ200 Engines(Eurofighter Engines)
Weapon: BK27/Sidewinder/IRIS-T/Aim-120A/B
Vote Closed until reworked
No DASS as in no RWR?
I could ditch the HMD.
I would be fine with a weaker version with the RB199s
but no RWR, especially if it still had Fox-3s would be brutal.
Currently I can only assume but it might still has a RWR, thats the only Pic I have of the 1994 one
But even if it wouldn’t have a RWR I doubt Gaijin would gave it AMRAAMs for BR reasons
So long as it had RWR, even if it was the one from the Tornado F3 or FA2 or something. It would be fine.
Then I would be happy with a version with RB199 and no Striker I
Its Gaijin and the Typhoon.
14.3 with no RWR
I Updated the Weapons as the 1994 had max the Sidewinder and full Weapons (IRIS-T/AMRAAM) were tested around 2001/2002, so I added them just for the 2003-2005 one
I think in terms of A2A weapons fit there should be 2 options
4-6x ASRAAM/IRIS-T but no Fox-3s
2-6 Aim-9M and 4-6 Aim-120Bs (could be restricted to belly on Aim-120s for a limitation)
I dont see a version with only AIm-9s being that good or that fun to actually play, even at a low BR of like 13.3
Dunno how Snail would handle that, is time travel for Weapons a thing in game?
Technical compatibility
Ok, looking here its a possible
Will seperate the Weapons into its own voting
I thought AMRAAM was quite early
Quick google says 1st test was 1981
I mean AMRAAM being fitted to the Typhoon
Oh,
I found so far just stuff saying 2001
I have no idea, but just feels that 2001, just 2 years before it entered actual service just feels a bit… late.
Would think if nothing else, theyd want to make sure it could actually carry and release weapons much earlier in the development than that
