The only interesting question here is whether Germany only integrates the antennas or if they go for the full arexis wingtip from the gripen with the iris t rail
I doubt they’ll do the wing mounted IRIS-T. Especially given theyve got 2 pefectly usable pylons that they can slap extra AAMs too if they really wanted

The Mk1 will still have EW, its being done in steps, at first Mk1 was literally Mk0 but with new TRM and reciever, that was reffered to as Step 0 i believe.
Step 1 brings new power supply and proceessor necesary for planned capabilities.
Step 2 is the software necessary to perform EW
And there were also Luftwaffe requirements like Ultra high res SAR to perform SEAD better
So it’s even 3 steps…
Yeah, in another reality they stopped at step 0 and used that or the mk2, but the german and spanish mod wanted it so they got it.
Series production of Step 1 started this summer apparently and its to be fitted to a T4 in 2027
The Mk2 has a 2.35 billion pound budget

I didnt feel the name was quite right for the new EFTs, so if anyone has anything thoughts Id be interested;
In the game the camo still has an error on both Eurofighters. The light grey panel after the metallic engine parts is in the game also metallic.
This grinds my gears and they should change it 😅

Not anymore, that was a consideration once. Mk.1 is getting a Step 2 upgrade now to improve its EW capabilities instead of buying Mk. 2
Mk.1 should have some advantages as well (namely higher range (probably) due to full GaN and better ground mapping as well as ground NCTR, if those will be modelled is a different question. There’s also some speculation it may be able to track stationary ground vehicles because of its high SAR resolution, but there’s no confirmation of that. Indra for example only talked about moving ground targets in an interview in 21(?))

I would hope so. The bigger issue for us would be getting any details on its performance to actually model the differences in game. Hopefully the BW will release some details next year when the Radar “officially” enters service. (At this point it’s all but certain they already have some)
Dang I really wanted to play, but somehow since yesterday my Warthunder keep crashing/force close without notification (sent crash info). After 1-3 min the game suddenly force close. While no issue in hangar, only happened in match only.
@Gunjob quick question: Would this source be enough to report a +/- 100 FoR for the Mk.1 once it’s implemented? Given it only shows the flags of Germany & Spain and is from Airbus this would have to be in regards to Mk.1 right?
