The “Typhoon (AESA)” name is a really wierd choice in my opinion and whilst…discriptive, doesnt denote any meaningful historical accuracy.

  • Typhoon FGR4 (Centurion)
  • Typhoon FGR4 (P4E)
  • Typhoon FGR4 (Late)

i really hate the early/late designations
would rather have blocks (or whatever the eurofighter has)

The issue is that with the Typhoon, the Tranches and Blocks dont really denote capability, only when they were built. Its an entirely possible to have the Tranche 2 Block 5 with CAPTOR-E if im not mistaken.

But the P4E (Phase 4 Enhancement) would be the closest you can get to that, as that is the programme that will add the AESA, among other things. (Though Germany might be the P3Eb?)

The thing about that, is this isnt really a block enhancement ingame. Like block/tranche enhancements come with a lot of features and capabilities. I believe that CAPTOR-E was built into the typhoon starting at Tranche 3, which would things like SPEAR 3, Marte-ER, and better Litening pods. Also it gets a way better RWR and MAW.

As morvran said this is like a upgrade, and in reality the “AESA” typhoon on the dev server is the exact same Tranche 2 Block 10/15 that we have ingame currently.

Too be honest, the AESA version seems to be like the F-4E mash up, because the phase enhancements also included other stuff over the time.

Anyways, im just going to vote for the (Late) option, its not the most realistic, but I mean if we are talking about realism I dont think any AESA wielding typhoon is still using aim-9ms. This will allow the devs to have some wiggle room, and in the future we can just get a proper Tranche 3 or 4 with Meteors and ASRAAMs and all that stuff

Pls snail, make the name for the German one EF-2000 IPA7, as its what it is in Reallife but what would be more welcome, pls use decals on them, like for Germany our version could be 98+07, but without the markings they just look naked…
