Eurofighter Radar getting nerfed tomorrow?

I am sorry but what? gszabi did a datamine and it seems like the eurofighter radar is getting nerfed when its already extremly extremly bad. Its basicly the latest mechanical radar in the world and it will performe worse than Radars from the 70s how nice. They also did a Youtube video talking about the radar and it “powerful” radar, And every singel comment on the video was “fix eurofighter radar”. Never tought that the CAPTOR-M radar that we got in game could be any worse.

We’ll have to wait and see what the actual changes are like. At a minimum its finally get its power doubled and hopefully some of the issues with it loosing tracks will be corrected. Its also getting its range doubled.

Anything else can be corrected afterwards but given we are still waiting for GMTI/T, Priority track or even just the buffed scan rate. Its pretty clear this is just the first step

They are not buffing the range of the radar, but nerfing it. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. The radar should be WAY better, but good old Gaijin loves changing things to the way they like it without any connection to reality at all. Eurofighter Team has to be a bunch of monkeys.

Its being buffed.

LPRF is going from 74lm to 200km
MPRF is going from 74km to 180km

Previosuly it was hard capped to 74km, so whilst the max in the files is going down, its actually getting buffed as its no longer capped, but more power = more range

HPRF is being properly modeled as a seperate mode and I think its being modeled to automatically swap between LPRF, MPRF and HPRF much better. So should maintain the lock better

Angular sensitivty is also going from 4° to 3°

Also apparently some fixes for it getting stuck in acquire mode is being rolled out.

Overall this is looking like it might be quite a decent buff, the only nerf might be the reduction in the scan bar heights, which might reduce its ability to scan an area quickly or reduce the overall vertical area it can scan. But Im happy for these changes as a start point. As I said. still stuff left to be sorted out but its good to see they arent sitting on CAPTOR-M for 9 months as they often do with other radars

What do you mean by sitting on it for 9 Months.

Sea Harrier FRS1 had the F-5Es radar for 9 months (which crucially lacked IFF) despite a tech mod providing all information needed for the Blue Fox about a week after it was added.

But there are other less extreme examples like the Tornado F3 taking 3 months to get a radar that could guide a skyflash on a heavy bomber flying at alt. Or the Gripen just having the F-16Ds radar for months which was really buggy imo.

The fact we’ve gotten changes data-mined and they arent even officially back from holiday until next week iirc is encouraging.

should be tracking better as power has been improved. either way still wont be what its meant to be

Yeah, that wont be till we get Priority Track mode (which could be placeholder implemented by C&Ping some code over from the AESA radars which have something kinda similar already modeled, I think)

Probs gonna be a few years until its fixed

Unfortunately, it probably will be the thing we will be asking for for awhile. But if we managed to get leading edge wing slats on the Tornado, then we can get the Typhoon a decent radar.

If you actually read the data mine you’d see it’s getting a pretty big power buff and an irrelevant range buff. I see that you selectively read the irrelevant range buff part and ignored the big power buff.
