ESM and it's update rates

Propaganda of playing like goober and feeding kills to remotely competent spaa.

Conveniently ignoring all of his videos on the kh38 and other russian cas in which he rails on about how brain dead easy it is for russia, alongside the smsv being utterly broken and should have never been added…

I swear, the forums are beginning to feel like twitter with how many russian bots are here lol.

yea idk why (and im too lazy to do research) but the ESM on the F16 and F18 is extremely shitty. It’s nearly unusable while the Russian and Chinese ones have instant scan and update rates

yeah, the track radar doesnt move.

That’s because it’s a fixed plate PESA

Both Pantsir trackers act the same.
The radar covers 90°x60° zone once every second (with ESA update covering the same zone once every 0.0416s, or 24 times a second), with default position being 0° to +60°, but it can move within -15° to +75°, meaning it can look 75° up. It is achieved by habing a target as your primary lock, if that target moves up or down relative to you, the radar zone will follow it.
IRST can look from -10° to +82°.
Also, when it comes to search radar, while it says it covers 90°, but it does not cover 0° to 90°. Instead, the real coverage provided is -10° to 80°.

The guns and missles are on completely separate actuators, the game just has them move and merge as 1 for whatever reason.

probably for gameplay purposes
It’s simply easier to do it that way

Incorrect
Missiles and Guns move independently, and they have separate limits.
Missile simply do not have elevation drive module, so you cant disable their vertical movement.
Cool, right?

That’s what I was saying… the game treats them both as if they operate off 1 system when the missles and guns can move independent of each other…

Are there any bug reports for F-16,F-15 or F-18?

Yes there is
For AN/ALR-67(v)3 on F/A-18
(Community Bug Reporting System)

For AN/ALR-69A(V) on F-16C PoBIT
(Community Bug Reporting System)

F-15C/E use AN/ALR-56C and TEWS, no reports for that so far.

Honestly, looking further into it, Gaijin hasn’t even figured out the names of the chinese ESM systems, as these are literally just named “ESM”.

These bug reports are going to sit in accepted limbo for years to come and won’t change any time soon, similar to the addition of turret baskets, where two nations are conveniently left out again.
