Escort mission points – proposal

Hello everyone,
I’d like to propose adding a score when players actually choose to escort planes (bots) on a mission.
Basically, if one of the mission objectives is “protect the bombers - attackers - reconnaissance planes,” for example, why not introduce a scoring system based on the time spent flying in the same quadrant as the allied bombers?

There are cases where the bombers go out and then return home, and in that case points are added to the squadron, but none individually, and cases where the bomber formation just circles around the whole time.
So a player can spend half the match flying with them, defending them from enemy fighters, and get no reward for it at all.

I think a simple scoring system based on how long you fly in the same quadrant as the bombers could encourage players more to protect them.
Even a small score, like 20 points for every 5 minutes spent in the same quadrant as the bombers (or attackers), would in my opinion improve the game.
Thoughts?

I think it would be a very sensible innovation. But the reward part could be a bit more; as far as I remember, it takes them around 10 minutes to go through it from start to finish

Maybe not quadrant, as this of course always “jumps” when crossing to the next grid. Maybe distance based? Even a counter (like capping) could be possible, but the “zone” moving with the bots, could be possible.

Definitely possible in the CDK, and pretty simple too.

made a whole topic about changing AI targets to be like this giving more use to intercepetors

would also find a place for kc135 maybe some day

I did not specify that months ago, but it can work with AI bombers for air sim as well, I think…
