[Suggestion] Enemy Spawns Should Not Be Visible on the Minimap (Ground RB)

In Ground Realistic Battles, the exact location of enemy spawns is always shown on the map and minimap.
This predictability reduces the need for players to adapt dynamically—after enough matches, it’s easy to memorize where enemies will appear and plan around that, whether it’s for flanking, holding objectives, or intercepting key routes.
If the exact enemy spawn points weren’t shown, players would need to rely more on recon, teamwork, and awareness rather than simply pre-aiming or locking down static positions.
This would make each match feel less predictable and encourage a more strategic playstyle without making the game unfair.

Your team’s spawn locations would still be visible—this change is about adding uncertainty only for the enemy’s spawns, not your own.
You’ll know your general frontlines, but you won’t have exact information about where the enemy is coming from.
It’s a simple change that adds a meaningful layer of depth to Ground RB without drastically altering core mechanics.

Example:

Before: image

After:

For Devs:
- Remove enemy spawn icons from the minimap and full map during Ground Realistic Battles.
- Keep allied spawn icons visible as they currently are—this change should affect only enemy
spawn visibility.
- Ensure this change applies across all Ground Realistic Battle maps consistently.
- Test for any unintended UI issues (e.g., players not seeing their own spawns or objectives).
- No other gameplay mechanics or spawn rules need to change—this is a UI visibility adjustment
only.

Sorry about the image sizes, one is supposed to show what it looks like currently, one shows what it would look like if the change is implemented.

Edit:
Not saying this will solve spawncamping completely—that’s not the point here. The idea is just to make things a bit less predictable and a bit more strategic. You’ll still have to think about where the enemy might come from, but you won’t have exact locations handed to you. It’s a small change, but it could make the matches feel a little more dynamic. This can be further added to Air RB if its a good idea, haven’t played enough Air RB to know for sure. Let me know what you guys think.

making this change would have no effect on the problem you gave

It does have an effect. Without enemy spawn icons on the map, you can’t just guess where they’ll be every time.

I assure you most players would be able to memorise the spawn points

You don’t need to, the enemy spawns opposite of you on the other side of the map. It’s common knowledge at this point, you’d be able to grasp that after playing 1 match of ground RB.

The exception is asymmetrical maps where you spawn one side corner, enemy spawns other side opposite corner. But even then, removing exact spawn icons still adds more uncertainty and makes matches feel more dynamic.

Not knowing exactly where the enemy spawns isn’t a big deal—you still have the objectives to focus on, and that’s the main goal of the game.

Edit:
If your team has one spawn, the enemy has one spawn. If your team has two spawns, the enemy has two spawns. If you spawn on one side, the enemy spawns on the other side.

This should only be a mechanic in SB, not RB. It is not necessary and would not prevent spawn camping anyways.

I’m playing more than 10 years and i know almost every building and rocks on any map, so is everyone who plays long enough.

Hiding spawn icons won’t change anything 😕

It’s not just about stopping spawncamping, that’s a whole another issue that doesn’t have a simple solution —it’s about making the game less predictable and players in general be more strategic.

If you already know the maps, you don’t need exact spawn icons to tell you where the enemy is.

That’s what I’m saying, hiding icons won’t change absolutely anything. Experienced players don’t need icons, they can predict enemy locations by using experience, knowledge of location and enemy vehicles characteristics.

Is there icons or not don’t makes any difference.

If experienced players don’t need the icons, then removing them won’t hurt anyone—it just makes the game a little less predictable for everyone else.

Bud this is about the most useless thing on planet earth.
Hurr durr you don’t see enemy spawn anymore -
Yes, yes in fact I do, it’s right there on the opposite side of the map.
About the most pepega thing I’ve seen in a while.

Then why change something, what doesn’t makes any difference i don’t understand. But anyway. That will make new players more easy targets, i don’t think Gaijin will do it.

Should allow deployment within a large zone, ala World In Conflict.

That would allow people to pick the best place for their intended strategy and prevent easy spawn camping from both tanks and CAS.

If you already know the enemy spawns, then you don’t need the icons—you’re good. This change adds a small layer of unpredictability, not a complete overhaul. If it’s no big deal, there’s no reason to fight it so hard. I’ve explained to the best of my ability on why I think it should be added, if you think otherwise, that’s fine, you can voice your concerns here, change my mind, I promise I’m not stubborn.

That would be pretty smart, however I think for spawncamping in general, you should pop up on the minimap if you have direct line of sight of enemy spawn. That’s not the point of this thread however, I just want to see icons removed from ground RB.

That’s good point. Would be good to have ability to spawn anywhere in red zone so camping won’t be so big problem and additionaly it gives big variety in terms of tactics.

We would need random spawn points
