It’s a video game. Naturally it’s not a perfect simulation.
War Thunder is one of the few games out there that blends realism with arcade. If you want a true sim, there are other games out there but they don’t even have a fraction of the playerbase and theres a reason for that. Most players don’t like Sim and you can’t force them to.
If you truly want a mode where you can roleplay, advocate for a combined arms PVE mode where you can specifically tailor your gameplay style to whatever you desire. A PVE mode wouldn’t need constant balancing and you could play with sim controls or RB controls or AB controls or whatever you want and you could get into matches far more often.
Third person view is why this game is so popular. A perfect simulation isn’t what most people want. You are in the vast minority here.
If Sim wasn’t ass, excluded from events and basically everything else for years, just as neglected as most of the game with poor matchup and cycling through vehicles so you can rarely play what you want to play.
People would play Sim if actual effort was put into it, but that’s not the standard for any aspect of the game aside from just adding new vehicles to mask that fact.
Many of Warthunder’s game modes could use a lot of work. It’s probably the area that is lacking the most in the game. I mean look at Air RB… hasn’t changed much in 11 years.
Yes Gaijin certainly needs to invest in cleaning up there game modes and altering game modes dependent upon the generation of vehicles.
Has any mode changed in the last 10 years? Barely anything in the game has changed at all, it’s just more vehicles and newer vehicles which sometimes come with newer weapon systems that are usually just detrimental to the game.
We went from being spawncamped in Fields of Poland in 2014 due to poor map design in Shermans in Panzer IVs and being bombed by a P-47 to being spawncamped in Fields of Poland in 2023 due to poor map design in Abrams and Leopards and being bombed by who knows what because it’s 10km away and operates in a different universe with guided bombs and missiles.
People who wake up from a 10 year coma should be put behind a PC and play Warthunder because it would be the thing that changed the least in the last 10 years.
