Completely wrong. That suggests you don’t know how to notch.
Yes I multipath too. Never said I don’t. But depending on the situation chaff is very useful if not the only option.
Yes. There’s also anglegating so it’s more than just a 90° angle and chaffing. The thing with the missile’s altitude: a missile coming from above will not turn off it’s PD filter so it will keep moving towards you and won’t follow chaff so easily. A missile coming from below will turn off it’s PD filter and will be fooled by chaff.
At the end I think we just have different gameplay styles, and it’s ok.
It seems you rely a lot on multipathing. In my case, I constantly fly at medium altitude, so I mostly dodge missiles with notching and chaffs.
One of the other reason I don’t like multipathing is because flying so low almost all the time requires a lot of attention and doesn’t make you able to look around easily to keep a good situation awarness.
What do you mean, I am not sure. You say that having a good survival rate without using multipathing is impossible?
If yes, I can tell you that… you are wrong ;)
Su34 is not a pure fighter btw. It’s normal that you struggle if you use it like a normal jet fighter. Take advantage of it’s very good radar (in TWS) instead. When I play this one I also always carry the big FAB to get extra points by dropping it on a base when you can.
It’s an issue, but unfortunately just the way it is. I wouldn’t say it’s a big problem, it’s just a necessity of the F2P system.
Chaff isn’t absolutely necessary to notch and defeat a missile, and is not important at lower altitudes especially. Here’s a video on this matter by CatWerfer:
A lot of the time it doesnt work because you’re the last alive on your team with enemies coming from 4 different angles, if you’re notching one yeah, its fine, any more and it gets annoying and pointless
Not all do, or if all do it it’s not that great of a deal. If it happens you unlock and relock the target. Or just use TWS. Although lately TWS+ has been doing its own magical things but wtv.
no, if your plane has a regular SRC it will switch to SRC instead of SRC PD
it only works if there is no ground clutter in view
i did some quick testing with a friend, i know my game is in russian but it should be understandable for you (СПР ИД = TRK PD; СПР = TRK)
Agreed, my playstyle since ARH released has been to position off to the left of my team at ~5500m (about 100m below contrail height in order to remain stealthy) and this means dodging the occasional fox-3 with a well-executed notch, then turning into and above the furball, as seen in this clip, allowing for peak kill potential
Of course, some people will be forced to play at MP height if they for example don’t have chaff (stock) or are in planes that just can’t really contest at high altitudes (ie fox1 vs fox3 that’s not a 27ER)
Another problem can be countermeasure count, as I sure as hell wouldn’t want to contest altitude in a Su-33 with only 48 CMs.
Doesn’t really work within 10-15km, but sure early game with the 20+km launches you’ll be fine with just going cold.
A lot more consistent and applicable to most situations.
It does and is a lot more consistent than multipathing.
Pointless? no
You’re a lot more likely to die to top downs from multiple people than just notching
A prime example is this clip:
Blockquote
If I was multipathing here, there is absolutely no way I would have survived without at least some damage.
Notching WELL works almost 100% of the time (Some situations you might find your aircraft incapable of reaching the notch angle, for example a 29SMT)
